I'm from Middle Tennessee and don't read Griffith. Basically you are saying he is a full of $h!t about his sources?

I get a feeling some folks "close to the program" are putting out "information" with the express intent of making the Athletic Director look bad. Parrish has always been one of Pearl's biggest cheerleaders among the press. Don't buy this report at all.

Edit: Looking at the report again, it isn't as offbase as I initially thought. Still not sure why anyone "close to the program" would be putting this out there.

Does Hamilton really need anyone's help to make him look bad? I think not.:eek:hmy:

Looks like Tn will have to go down to the NAIA level to get a coach.I think its going to be real hard for Tn to come up with that splash hire that its going to take to get the fan base excited.
Hat if Tn doesnt make the right hire what do you think happens as far as MH goes ?I think if they bring an unknown or unproven coach TBA will be empty next season.I will hang up a listen.

This just in, an Overlooked source: Craigslist.:eek:lol:

Some "fans" had rather make MH look bad or get fired than for him to find a good coach. Making MH look bad or get fired at this time would not be good for UT.

If this is true... I'm not sure how to take it. Which is more of the reason why: 1. Is he not interested because he's a Xavier man and won't leave his school. or 2. He doesn't want to come to Tennessee?

We wouldnt have wanted Mack anyways. He's going to run XU into the ground. Skip Prosser, Thad Matta, and Sean Miller. They were the XU coaches who we would have went after. Chris Mack inherited a job that he doesn't deserve and will be relieved of in less than four years.

I don't see this as a big deal. I would think that Parker Executive Search is reaching out to a number of coaches to see who may or may not have interest in the Tennessee job.

You, sir, know very little about Coach Mack. I am an alumnus of both UT and Xavier. I follow both programs very closely and support both financially. Coach Mack won his conference and was named Coach of the Year.

The truth is that UT, as well as a couple of other schools, reached out to his agent. He is not interested in leaving the Musketeers at this time. Just look at the accomplishments of his predecessors to see the strong coaching lineage that is Xavier.

Pfffft... you fail.

I've never seen or heard of an AD that has completely botched the hiring/firing of coaches like MH has since he took over at UT. He's a complete embarrassment to the university, and our programs have been in a downwird spiral since he took over... The only consistantly good thing that MH had going that he could hang his hat on was the Pearl hire/Basketball team - and that blew up in his face... He needs to go.

that's very cool that you support both financially. amazing actually. the truth is xavier women won their conference, not xavier men (which mack coaches). xavier was bounced by dayton in the a10 tournament. in fact, mack didn't win the a10 champ last year either; that was temple. regular season ain't nothing boss. i don't even know if they make banners for that. believe it or not, you're not the only person on this board who follows the musketeers.

still wouldn't want mack as the next coach @ ut or xu for that matter.

reverse-fail.

I think some close to the program were "putting out information" to make the UT administration & AD look good (or should I say better) in previous weeks. It has been happening on both sides.

I wonder if they are consulting with the AD about the possible penalties to be assessed to the program and it's scaring people away?

First, the Mack thing doesn't even appear to be true. Second, the NCAA penalties are going to be minimal. It's not going to scare anybody off.
