What makes you think Fulmer was even interested in the job?

If Petersen goes to Mississippi State, I'm glad we didn't hire him because he's either incredibly arrogant, or stupid.

Chris Petersen is a really good coach. The conference just got a little harder if true.

I think he's a good coach which makes me wonder why he chose Miss St. That is going to be a tough place to win. He's taking a big career risk.

Fulmer openly begged for the Clemson job. Shut down by a guy named Dabo. He said he's a "football coach". I was just putting them together. Speculation: Very Much so, Fact: In no way.

I'm pretty sure Fulmer would pick up the phone is Miss. State came calling.

Do you think Fulmer has worth on the market?

With the coaches in the SEC now... you should be ordained the Coach of the Year, automatically, if you win a BCSNCG. Or even get to one.


It's almost like King of the Ring now.

I would beg for the Clemson job, too. Clemson is a sleeping giant. It's an underachieving program in a mediocre conference with outstanding fan support and the wherewithal to be successful.

From the standpoint of trying to win a national championship, there's a very good argument that Clemson is a better job than Tennessee. If Dabo Swinney is as good as Clemson thinks he is, he'll have them in the BCS within two years.

Fulmer said he would only coach again at a place where he thought he had a realistic chance to win. The only way you win at Mississippi State is the way Jackie Sherrill did...for a while.

Do I think Fulmer has value? Right now, he's perceived as damaged goods. In a year or two, people's memories (outside of UT) will fade and he'll be a national championship winning coach with a .750 winning percentage who is available. And at that point, he will get offers.

Seems like every team in the sec is trying to one up each other. This conference continues to get more ridiculous every week. Who's next?

If the bigger programs, like us, keep saying peterson wouldn't make it in our league, then his best chance to prove he can is a smaller program in a big league.

How many games does he have to win at MSU to prove he is a great coach who can cut it in the bigtime?

It's not like they will expect an undefeated season.

He is going to have to have them bowling every year, and have some crazy season where they win 10 games for most people to buy it. Realistically, if he can win 8 games a year he'll be doing extremely well.
