Comparing what a POTUS uses to go anywhere on the planet for any reason to what a New Jersey governor uses to go to a high school baseball game is dumb beyond measure.

So, the Executive of the country can take a helicopter to go play golf but the Executive of a state may not take a helicopter to go watch his son's ball game?

What Christie did is objectively mildly wasteful, but not really worth a lot of comment or criticism.

What Christie did was to subjectively arm his critics with something they will make fun of him for. And he ought to have known better.

Christie is a politician who will actually look forward to such a dicussion and engagement with the media re: this.
