Cigar /Pipe Smoking thread

Today a slice of yum. The excellent Maduro version of the Oliva V Melanio panatella size. A lovely smoke of about 1hr where you are getting full flavor from every draw but in a more diminutive package. The wrapper proportions amplifies the natural sweetness, with coco, leather, a touch of spice predominant

This morning’s post-breakfast cigar is an Aging Room Core Maduro Rondo. Mineral and toasted bread at the light gives way to dark chocolate, leather, and dark roast coffee. Sweetly spicy, medium-full body.

Yesterday, my hand slipped while opening a 5-pack of Oliva connies. Accordingly, this wounded cigar is this morning’s post-breakfast smoke.

I’m really enjoying these. I acquired them at ~$4/stick on a ten pack deal from CigarPage. Having one this morning after breakfast.

As a pipe smoker, have you ever had any perique tobacco?
Only in blends. I don't know a lot about Perique other than it is grown in a small part of Louisiana. I know a lot of folks like the Virginia/Perique or VaPer blends. I'm not sure if it is available in a straight Perique like Virginia, Burley or Dark Fired Kentucky. Do you ever smoke a pipe? Other than a short time when I was much younger, I'm still pretty new to pipe smoking but learning and enjoying it.

Aging Room knows how to put out a good stick for the money. Not quite the same level as an Oliva Melanio but reasonably close and usually at a better price point. I enjoy the quattro maestros quite a bit, definitely going to have to try those maduros - can imagine that they are flavor bombs!

mostly in blends I think. Straight is probably too strong for most.

Enjoying this Caldwell Fat Daddy. One of a 7 sample. Nice and strong…@Gandalf would be proud. 😉IMG_2867.jpeg
