Need to chop off ORN’s minutes, split it between...
Vescovi
Bailey
JJJ
Pons
Fulky
Keon
Springer
Anosike
JJJ can spend some time at the 4 alongside Anosike if Pons gets into foul trouble but we're down to Big O and Uros in games where Fulky gets into foul trouble. I think we're going to see a lot of Big O and Uros the next 3 games.we have to have 4 guys get minutes at the 4-5 due to those position being foul prone.
Time will tell but it’s reasonable to suggest dropping one from the rotation of the guards would help with letting guys get into a flow

I'd prefer seeing James or even Keon playing some spot minutes at the 4 over Nkamhoua, at this point.
Conversely, is it possible you may be overestimating his defense? He doesn't "flash" defensively like a Pons or Keon. His defense is average. His offense is nonexistent, though I've noted many, many times that we don't need him to score a bunch of points. We need him to be a threat to score, which he's not...not even close...and we need him to rebound the basketball (he has 0 in 14 minutes over two games). These next 3 games are huge for him and EA. I think you are underestimating Olivier value on D and we can live without any offense out of his minutes imo. EA must get better quickly on D or his minutes might be the one that’s gone

It is perhaps skewed because of the number of games and the number of minutes he's played, but ON's defensive rating is the 2nd worst on the team, so far. EJA, not far ahead in that category, but also has 7 boards to his credit. ON has gotten lost or been unaware of spacing, defensively, a couple times in his 14 minutes. I don't know that either guy is going to give us an advantage on defense, and I don't believe we need either guy to be a major offensive contributor, but I know which one gives us the advantage on the boards, to this point.
No, I'd agree, which is why I said I would do it only in spot minutes for Keon. It would definitely be a small-ball lineup, and not one you'd want to employ if the opposing team is running out 6-9 and 6-10 PFs who like to bang in the paint.I don’t think Keon has enough mass to defend the 4 with much success. JJJ can against the average sized SEC 4. IMHO
It would be interesting to see what Keon could do against a 4. I don't known if we've really seen an example of his strength yet...No, I'd agree, which is why I said I would do it only in spot minutes for Keon. That's true, but it isn't hard to imagine the outcome of a 6-5, 190 lb kid trying to prevent a 6-8 or 6-9, 250 lb kid from backing him down on the block on most occasions. At best, it isn't an ideal pairing. It would be interesting to see what Keon could do against a 4. I don't known if we've really seen an example of his strength yet...
No argument its his bread and butter, but also something he wont be able to avoid moving forward in the game. And I believe he is not just stronger than his frame would suggest but he also understands the defensive side all together. So gaining position, going straight up and his quick hands could have just as big affect on a 6'8 guy as a 6'2 or 6'3.Keon has to guard on the perimeter. That’s his bread and butter strength and taking him away from that wouldn’t be prudent
I know he was up and down in his career here, but I really liked watching Armani Moore play ballNo argument its his bread and butter, but also something he wont be able to avoid moving forward in the game. Heck Armani Moore played it at the same size a few years ago, if I'm not mistaken
Armani is a good example of an unorthodox PF, but despite being the same height, he probably had 30 lbs on Keon Johnson. No argument its his bread and butter, but also something he wont be able to avoid moving forward in the game.
