I don’t know that they were “highly overrated.”

They started the season unranked. Probably didn’t get a solid foot into the rankings until the end of September. They won against teams that finished #16, #24, and #8 (the Pac 12 Champ) (and against 4 more bowl teams), and their losses came in a 1-pt game against the #3 team (and SEC Champ), the #10 team, and #15 team at the end of the season.
