Citrus Bowl Missouri vs Minnesota

Minnesota.

It's one thing to keep winning when you can't afford to lose a single game. It's another to go out there and win this kind of means nothing game after the type of championship game loss they had.

Plus ESPN keeps previewing this as both teams playing for some degree of respect/recognition of the level of their programs...so it makes too much sense for Missouri to lose.

Except they did pretty much the same thing last year and won the Cotton Bowl.

At some you have to accept this is Mizzou; they are ugly but somehow they win more than they lose, the last 2 seasons at least.

Also, Minnesota is kind of the Mizzou of the B10 only they've been doing it a good while; they flirt with having really good seasons but usually lose the big games that would raise their program.

Sooner or later they'll fall back into mediocrity the way they were most of the time in the Big 8-Big 12

True, but they also came out and played that game a lot flatter than they had the previous ones.

(That year's game in Atlanta was also closer/more competitive.)

That's a good comparison. So's Ole Miss.

They generally manage to get close but can't - as a program - make that breakthrough to get to the next level.
