so should be eligible immediately. Wonder if we would have any interest.

Who is he?

Edit: ok, running back from Clemson. I’d say no, running back is one position where we have some depth.

Averaged a measly 4.1 yards per carry during his 3-year career running behind better lines than we'll have next year...no thanks.

Don't we have about 74 or 75 scholarship players? If so we can have 85. Why not just take 10 grad transfers who have 1 year left. We could use another running back.

They count against our recruiting class

Yes he was the starter going into the season

Why he is looking to transfer he not the starter to end the season

Boy, guess they didn’t run the ball at all last year. Gave their starting running back 7 carries in game 1, followed by 4, 10, 1, 4 and 2.

Either way, don’t want. Never had more than 11 carries in a single game last year, and averaged 4.1 yards per carry over his career. Let’s pass on this kid.

Why? He wouldn't be an initial counter.

He would count against both. The only way around that is for a walk on who has been in the program for 2 years. Anyone else has to be counted towards a class. We may have the option of which class he counts against, but he must count towards one.

Huh. That seems like a very anti student-athlete policy which I guess shouldn't be surprising from the NCAA. Thanks for the info. :hi:

I always thought they counted against total scholarship numbers, but not against your class. Can a class only be 25 players? How did Georgia sign 26?

That's because he was their short yardage back...

Wayne Gallman, Tavean Feaster and The Louisiana kid are the 3 down backs... The past 3 years

Do you really think he wants to transfer to another school where he won't be the starter there?

We have no clear cut starter right now. All jobs are up for grabs. Little to no starting RB experience on the current roster. Think QB and OL would be the top 2 grad transfer search's. With JP saying we wouldn't add any till after spring he's probably got a few possibilities already lined up.

You can only bring in 25 but you can sign more with the likelihood of some not making the grades. Think Ohio St and Texas over signed too.
