Maybe it wouldn't matter but IMO if Hype brings in a QB from the portal and starts him the 2 QB's we have are gone and they should leave. I don't see Hype doing that to them. He has loyalty to QB's.

If Heupel brings in an experienced, game ready, 1 year left QB, they can go through Fall practice and may the best man win. Merk and G-Mac were expecting exactly that this year.

Tennessee has to have more than 2 QBs on the roster, period. An experienced starter that is matured only helps the situation completely. If one of the youngsters takes over, great, so be it!!

Yes, rushing touchdowns and total yardage with legs. You can run around well getting out of the pocket without producing good stats with your feet.

Lots of people said Nico was so good that he would beat out Joe as a true freshman. That didn't happen, did it?

I'm not going to get into the this true freshman lit it up and that true freshman lit it up back and forth, I'll just cite that Nico was and still is really highly gifted but not start as a true freshman gifted.

Brandon is also highly gifted and highly touted but it's a bit early to pronounce him the 2026 starter.

It's a good problem to have. No guarantees Brandon will live up to the hype, or be ready for at least a season. Who knows if Brandon will even uphold his commitment.

We made it last year with a guy that had the same stats. Most of Nicos tds were against bad competition. Im not sure one way or another but NIL wasted 5 million on him.
