CJH will need to let some scholarship players go to add quality and depth for 2023

Heup will need to have hard conversations after our bowl game with some scholarship players who will never play in the SEC. He'll need to make scholarship room for higher quality players and position depth who can maintain the UT brand. Hard reality for a coaching and playing in the SEC.
2 UT wideouts have hit the portal so far.

Calliway and Holiday. More to come as CJH makes room for his class and caliber of players. If you watch some of the '23 commitment's announcements, esp. Cam Seldon, they are all about "field morale" and business entertainment because that's what the NIL deals have made it for many players.

Heup isn't Saban. He doesn't just USE players, run off the ones he doesn't develop. Treating them like an empty and discarded beer can after draining the contents. Heup actually cares about his players and see them through development. You may now return to your real home, BOL.
Nor is Saban Heupel. Understand college football is now an entertainment business with NIL deals. It's up to players to put in the work and develop their craft. Hooker and Hyatt are examples. You may now return to your woodpile.

These things work out fine by letting the player# make their own decisions. Guys who don’t think they are going to play as much as they think they should will hit the portal. I’m sure coach Heupel and the position coaches will give guys their honest opinion if asked but it’s still up to the players. A friend of mine signed a scholarship way back in my day and he left after one season. He said he wasn’t asked to leave but it was clear to him that he wasn’t talented enough to ever play.
Some players were never meant to play in the SEC.

Two WRs and two RBs have already opted for the portal, making room for four new guys.

I don't think he's showing anyone the door, but if you're a defensive player who couldn't get time THIS year....you probably know. If you're a WR that got 2 catches...you probably know.

Considering the type of winter we're projected to have, further adding to the woodpile stocked is a freaking good idea. THANK YOU THE REMINDER. Appreciate that.

And you know the players who weren't very good, didn't work hard to develop? Amazing! You coach? Coach's assistant? I like fishing. I had some skilled fishermen trying to teach me stuff. Like casting skills, reeling in big fish skills, how to read water patterns for hints of fish near river debris, like fallen trees, over hanging branches etc. I tried. Even keep at it for hours with them or alone. But was never much good at it. Some folks just don't have it, no matter how much help they get or how hard they try. Like our secondary players. However, I was quite good at downing pheasants. Fast moving bassards once flushed, but I got my share even when firing from the hip. Now, me back to my woodpile, and you back to BOL.

You add nothing of value to this thread. Joining TikTok, What's App or another lesser platform might be more befitting a man of your insolence. Bar is open.

Hell, send this information to him ASAP before all the good players are scooped up from the portal. I bet none of our coaches have even thought of this idea. You should also send your resume to UT's athletic department. Don't sleep on this novel idea.
Keep your insults coming. Shows how small-minded you are. And please don't insult my Austin Peay Alma Mater. Daggers. Keep throwing em.

There's no difference really when encouraging a player to look for a better opportunity, vs asking them to leave because of a 6'2 220 lbs freshman that runs 4.3 in to 40 that you want to get the ball too.

Not sure why you all are jumping on JoeBob.

It's literally happening today what he suggested yesterday...
