Mr. Clausen has evey right to feel that way and I do not blame them for not want Jimmy at UT. UT and Fulmer have no one to blame but themselves and Fulmer's lack of honesty with Rick, The Clausen's and Vol Fans.

Can anyone say blackmail?  If this is what the Clausens are about, then let them go.

Not only that, but they say that there are about 5 teamates that will follow. All I can say is if USC wants a bleeping Clausen they can have him. You know Chris Leak is good, but would be much better in UTs offense than UMs.

I understand that he's probably upset about them picking Ainge over Rick, but it's not like Rick never had a shot. If Jimmy is as good as advertised, then there would never be any worry about someone starting over him.

It's one thing to be upset, it's another to go through the South Carolina (I think) news and announce that UT isn't on the list anymore. It's fairly obvious what he is trying to accomplish and I think it's pretty cheap.

Mr. Clausen's middle son, you know, the one that has a weak arm, bad mechanics, and no mobility, just proved himself as a leader tonight. And IMO just won the starting job for this season. But with the way CPF has handled the QB situation, who knows. The team plays totally different when he's in the game.

This is no knock against Ainge. In fact I believe that Ainge should have been the #1 at the start, because I believe you should never lose your starting position due to injury. Now, while it should have been clear that Ainge was the #1, it should have also been clear that he needed to do 2 things quickly: earn the trust and respect of the team as a leader and play up to his billed potential. He did neither, and went out in the first half of the LSU game and pulled a C. J. Leak imitation. It should have also been clear that if he did not do these 2 things that it would be likely that Clausen would replace him.

And above all, this should have been clear to Mr. Clausen. Judging from Rick's actions and comments, all of this has been clear to him.

After what Rick helped this team do against LSU, Mr. Clausen looks like a damn fool for not only threatening to take Jimmy to another school and not give Tennessee a chance in recruiting, but by trying to blackmail UT into playing Slick Rick over Ainge, when it's now clear (and was to me beforehand) that Rick was capable of forcing the issue all on his own.

Why would any top QB out of highschool want to play for Steve. He has never produced a QB that could take it to the next level. :dunno:

Average QB's look good in Steve-O's system. Good QB's look great in Steve-O's system. Great QB's don't end up in Steve-O's system, they go to school somewhere else.

Spurrier's offense simply makes the QB a product of the system. Look at the difference in Blake Mitchell from last year to this year.

Bottom line is it is the system that is great, not the individual at QB.
