I'm impressed, he didn't mention James Franklin once in the article.

If true, and I do say IF. Hart cannot survive without at least a 9 or 10 win season next year.

Next year will be a success if they get to 6 wins no matter who the coach is

Sorry, but if Hart blew off boosters and the chance to hire Gruden a 6-6 season will not work. The head of a department cannot go against the money people and not have a major success.

Hart is a Bama mole. He will eventually replace Mal Moore at Bama, but his first order of business is driving UT athletics into the ground.

I'm only half joking, btw.

Even Gruden would have went 6-6. Look at the schedule coming up

Here's the thing: If Manning and other boosters were keen on Gruden, then the first thing they would have to do is get on the horn with Hart, sound him out and see if he shares their enthusiasm. Everybody has to be on the same page. It is possible that Hart feigned interest in Gruden--if Manning called you with enthusiasm about an idea--you would surely be equally enthusiastic or at the worst feign it. Maybe Hart feigned interest but really wasn't keen on Gruden. I think this is possible and might explain why the A Dept. never suggested that much was going on with Gruden and why the Gruden camp took shots at UT yesterday--with his agent calling it a fantasy. Maybe Hart pissed off Gruden and his agent. Either that happened or all the talk we heard about talks going on for weeks was total BS. This much is true: The gap between what we were hearing from a bunch of sources for days about contact/negotiations/staff pay and various Gruden demands was utterly different from the way the whole thing seemed to end--enormous gap. I can certainly believe that Hart saw himself being marginalized by a hotshot coach like Gruden--and boosters wanting to get him--and simply didn't want to pursue Gruden. We need someone with some good contacts in AD or boosters to explain.

Remind me why we hired an AD when we had 2 on Campus that would have been great (Blackburn and Holloway)?

Hart's had his guy for a long time. And it's not Gruden.

I agree. Either Kirby Smart or Jimbo Fisher and if I had to guess he would prefer Smart. It would not surprise me in the least if he ends up hiring Smart in the end.

Faud Reviez said earlier this week hart basically told everyone to get outta the way and that he was going to handle the hire. Faud also said gruden was not coming to UT.

He said in his press conference the next coach needed prior head coaching experience with a winning record. If he hires Smart you can't trust anything Hart ever says again

Might have, but when you step out on your own and go against the will of those who pay the bills, you better succeed.

6-6 is not success, in everyone's mind we would have won 8 or 9 with Gruden.
