Sorry, it's maybe not politically correct, and maybe these two guys can do whatever they like, but in my book, for them to leave Knoxville and go to the cow pasture, Clemson, is utter betrayal. I hope as long as they live, they are never welcomed back into the city and school they betrayed.

If they're leaving for better passing offense, fine. I doubt the Clemson QB will be a lot better passer than Dormady or Guarantano. I doubt their line will be better than ours next year. What's the deal here? Is a big investigation coming to Sweeney in the cow pasture? Too much success too soon for a guy on the hot seat just a few years ago.

These boys better think.

Its a ****ing game. Grow up.

I think Peyton actually lived in New Orleans--grew up there. His dad played for Mississippi--big difference.

We'll see. Everybody's got the right to do what they want. I've got the right to think their decision sucks--especially Higgins.

Good god I'm talking about the college. He was a legacy and expected to go there just as much and likely much more than any of these kids. You know what I meant

Plenty of recruits leave their home state. All you can do is be disappointed but wish them the best. These are kids who being pulled all over the country and taking a big step in their lives.

Leaving their home STATE is one thing.
Leaving their home CITY is something else.
These two sting.
No doubt about it.
But, nothing we can do about it now except to get better and maybe beat Clemson the next time we play them.

It's not like they're going to Florida, UGA or Vandy. They're going to Clemson - a national title contender, one whose offense has produced some really talented NFL receivers like DeAndre Hopkins, Sammy Watkins, Jacoby Ford and Martavis Bryant.

I think Dabo is a dipsh*+, but he has a lot to sell to these kids.

It all comes back to Lane Kiffin - shouldn't have told Tajh Boyd to walk. Tajh went to Clemson and gave Dabo the QB to build his offense around. Watson just made it better.

It has nothing to do with his coaching abilities. I just think he's a f*&#ing goober.

His sound bites make me cringe. It could be bc I'm surrounded by tons of Clemson fans and they hang on every word he says.

I really don't have a clue but do these guys sometimes think about more than football when they make these decisions? Could there be family local? Degree program? Wanting to get away from home for the college experience?

I've heard Swain talk about Higgins before and he said it was best that he gets out of the area. Apparently he has some suspect hangers-on that he would benefit being away from.

Not sure there is a story with Amari. I always thought it was pretty telling that he didn't even consider going to USC, where his dad is OC and lead recruiter.

Florida and Georgia loose a lot of players too. Another Tennessee player leaving for Clemson is the RB out of Memphis Trezevant HS - Richardson. Big back he will be a good one.

More than 70% of our recruits are from outside of TN. Players from GA, FL and many other states come here to play college ball. So you are calling them betrayers too ? Common man !!

I take it the OP has never seen the Clemson campus.......highly doubt he has even stepped foot in any campus really,

I've created very few threads in my years of occasional posting, but when I have, I've always noticed the little trolls like you come out to post your anonymous personal attacks. What you posted was completely insignificant. Having nothing to add to the conversation itself, you opted for an ad hominem comment addressing something you know nothing about.

I live in SC, and I am familiar with Clemson. I graduated with honors from UT and took some graduate classes. So both of your doubts have been addressed. Any opinions on the original post or do you just prefer to do little drive-bys?

I am sure Higgins is going to lose sleep over what you think. Do you call him up on every decision you are contemplating to make sure he approves? No? So, why should he give a rats ass about what you think?

Yeah, you got a right to your opinion. But quit trying to cram it down his throat. That may be part of the reason
he will be wearing a different shade of orange.

Yeah Dabo isn't a great coach. He did exactly what Butch should be doing and building a dang good staff around him. Venables is A+. I read an article a while back that said Dabo is the cheerleader and CEO. He has his hands in everything and gives input but in the end lets his top notch assistants take control. If Butch wins at UT it will be with this template. Become Dabo 2.0

Tee Higgins thread part II?

It's what happens when too many people put part one on ignore.

There is so much more to be said about it that needs to be read, you just have to start a new one in order to get everything out in the open.

No ill will toward Tee because it is the smarter decision, but I honestly think the guy is overrated and always said that even before his commitment to Clemson. He still is decent and has potential to be great if he toughens up. Right now though, I actually EXPECT Murphy to walk in, immediately get playing time, and outperform Tee.

Regardless, I'm sure he will be one which this board keeps an eye on until he graduates.

How do you think it's the smarter decision? Based on what? He will not sniff the field for 2 seasons. Deion Cain and Rae Rae McCloth are to good.

If he came to UT he could start or play a lot his freshman year and grow up with Guarantano.

Can you seriously blame them? Clemson is going to the CFB playoff for the 2nd straight season while Tennessee will more then likely be looking for a new coach in 2018 after we run CBJ off for not winning the division next season...

They didn't betray Tennessee... They simply saw a better opportunity and took it

Lol. A better opportunity? All the numbnuts that keep saying this are ridiculous. Any player on any team in any power 5 conference has a shot to get drafted in the NFL. This nonsense about this school being 'WRU' is a creation of the media. NFL scouts don't listen to these nimrods. Exposure is higher than it has ever been. And it doesn't matter how many local ex-college football players say otherwise. As for Tee and his midget buddy, who cares? Hope we get the Harris kid to go along with Murphy and we should be good to go.

Not to mention, who's throwing the ball to those guys? Hunter Johnson?
