It could be business of ours if it could help with recruiting and Tennessee uses it to show that Clemson covers up racism if that is indeed what has/is happing. May make players and their families think twice about going to Clemson over Tennessee as we’ve seen over the last several yrs. JMODon’t care - Clemson’s business IMHO
The coach didn't make a racial slur. He repeated the word that cannot ever be used after a player used it toward another player. He was dressing the player down for using it so he was trying to stop racial slurs. This has been corroborated by multiple players. What is everyone’s thoughts about the asst. coach making a racial slur in 2017. I live in SC and of course all the gamecock fans say Dabo should be fired or resign because he didn’t punish the coach. What’s everyone’s thoughts on the matter?
Used a racial slur in practice. What recruits can we poach?

And our coaches weren't enabling rapists and encouraging retribution against Drae Bowles six years ago... but that didn't stop Dabo Swinney from aggressively selling that line of bull to recruits. All I can say is, he would definitely use this against us if the roles were reversed. Dabo has come into east Tennessee and talked a lot of garbage about our program and our university to recruits in our backyard, including to some of our legacies. We should have no qualms about returning the favor. He would not hesitate to do it to us.The coach didn't make a racial slur. My deepest apologies for posting the actual facts of the story. And our coaches weren't enabling rapists and encouraging retribution against Drae Bowles six years ago... but that didn't stop Dabo Swinney from aggressively selling that line of bull to recruits. You can feign regret all you want to... Dabo Swinney and his program deserve whatever backlash they get as a result of this. He would definitely exploit this for his own gain, if something similar had happened at a program he recruits against. My deepest apologies for posting the actual facts of the story.
If this would have happened to Obama instead of a coach then he would have said this is a teaching moment and everyone would have been fine with it. But since the coach did the appropriate thing here in addressing it as an issue he is being made out to be an offender. He said it, he didn't call the player it.
"Three years ago on the practice field, I made a grave mistake involving D.J. Greenlee. I repeated a racial slur I overheard when trying to stop the word from being used on the practice field. What I overheard, I had no right to repeat," Pearman said in the statement.
Pearman said the word was not directed at Greenlee, an account the former player confirmed in his interview with The State, noting that Pearman "wasn't saying that I was a N-word."
Why is this becoming a story now? If it was an important point in 2017 why is it just coming out now. I think the player who was there totally explained the situation and now people are trying to project this as something else. I was not there and am willing to accept the player’s account of the incident. What is everyone’s thoughts about the asst. coach making a racial slur in 2017. No, we need to worry about Tennessee. If we take care of our program and build it the way it should be you will not have to worry about Clemson or any other program. It could be business of ours if it could help with recruiting and Tennessee uses it to show that Clemson covers up racism if that is indeed what has/is happing. Pruitt grabs a face mask and you’re first in line to bash him. Don’t have one bit of a problem when another program deals with PR issues...because they’re not exactly grieving when it’s our turn. They also don’t have our contingent of weepers who are dry faced when it’s directed towards us.No, we need to worry about Tennessee. If we take care of our program and build it the way it should be you will not have to worry about Clemson or any other program.
To use a slur in a teaching moment is on purpose. To let a slur “slip” is a sign of something different than poor judgement. How do you know that as fact? There is no report of that being fact. Your opinion?
' ‘What’s coach getting on to you about?’” Greenlee told The State. “I was just like, ‘Man I got the (n-word) that came in my gap.’ I was talking to my teammate. That was all that was said. Then the next thing you know coach Pearman starts coming over there. He was repeating what I just said. He’s like, ‘(n-word) this, (n-word) that. The (n-word) wasn’t there.’”To use a slur in a teaching moment is on purpose. To let a slur “slip” is a sign of something different than poor judgement.
From the corrected player’s statement the slur wasn’t directed at him, but used in a teaching moment. That’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it.
