This makes perfect sense to a democrat. Burn gas to create heat to generate electricity, transmit it across 100's of miles of transmission lines, so they can convert it from electricity back into heat. Yep, no inefficiencies in that process.

Exactly like those folks in Cali who drive Teslas but keep the little 110v Honda gas generators in the trunk to charge it. They either charge them at home on electricity largely produced from burning coal...then when they are out and about they use a gas generator to recharge the car ....nevermind the INCREDIBLE amount of carbon produced, water ruined from lithium mining, forced child labor in mining rare elements etc that it takes to produce that $30,000 battery that will be replaces in about 5 years...which may technically "total" the car due to the battery costing more than the used car is worth....

But "hey guys, look at my fancy electric car!! "

California idiots like it that way. When the hundreds of miles of transmission lines cause wildfires, they then claim it's due to the mythical climate change (as opposed to the real reason - decades of government negligence in not properly maintaining the forests) and then levy more taxes.

So Germany reduces it's nuke energy supply and becomes dependent on Russian gas. Now that Russian gas is in short supply they are resorting to burning wood.

I'm not rocket surgeon but I'm guessing the carbon footprint of burning wood is a wee bit bigger than that of nuke energy. Nice work Merkl.
