Clinton counting on "unfortunate accident" for Obama?

First do you have a link to a video of her saying it, or even a respectable source saying she said it?

Second, what about it isn't true?

First, props to pj for doing that... I should have provided a source but I was in a hurry.

Second, what about it isn't true? If you don't realize how absurd that statement is, there's nothing I can do to help. Also, you were the one who was getting angry at BPV and others for bring race into the argument (you were saying here comments weren't racist). Seems to me that statement brings race into it, doesn't it?

But Color IS a factor in this country.

Ignoring it isn't going to make it go away.

color is a factor for those who have a stake in it remaining an issue. People like Sharpton, Wright, Jackson, Farrakhan, Malik Shabazz are most likely hoping for Obama to lose in November. Otherwise, the racial chip that each carries on his shoulder will be substantially reduced, if not eliminated.

It was on 60 Minutes so I'm sure a clip exists. I saw a youtube link on google but can't look at it from work so let me know if it's not the right one.

YouTube - Barack Obama's wife plays race card on '60 Minutes'

Is it also true that I could say I have the same likelihood of being shot in my city since I'm a white man? It may be half-true but what's the point in saying it?

Thanks. After hearing it without a slanted view of the Obama's, the first thing that comes to my mind is that the crime rate for black men is high. That's a fact. More black men on average are killed with guns than white men in everyday settings such as the gas station. It's funny to me that people that dislike Obama want to bring up comments from 6 months or more ago now that Obama is the presumptive nominee. Where were your condemnations of these statements on the Monday morning following 60 minutes? Was it because you didn't see anything wrong with it until it was obvious that he was going to beat your candidate? Was it because some right leaning website or blog told you about it? I'd be willing to bet it was EXACTLY one of those scenarios other than the fact you've been stewing over these comments for all that time.

What she said is a statistical fact, but that won't matter to any of you, you'll continue to say SHE'S bringing race up, even when the WHITE interviewer asked her the blatent racial question.

Nice job of marginalization!

:)

You are exactly what you hate/dislike!

I don't hate anything here and you can't marginalize something that is already so insignificant it should never be debated.

I could spew a list of fact as well regarding affirmative action. Many would paint the law in a negative light and would have seriously racist overtones, but they would still be facts.

I love it. He's going to beat my candidate? I don't have one, but I'll vote for who's less dangerous for the country. I would bring this up no matter who's leading in the polls, and what makes you so sure Obama is going to win? And she said it, it wasn't some vast right-wing conspiracy. You say you're independent, but the more you talk, the more you show your colors. Way to be independent.

I'm voting for Bloomberg!

I disagree with you, so obviously I'm what you hate most. We know, you've tried to paint me into a box all week.,

Unfortunatly for you it's not true.

You say you would bring this up no matter who was leading in the polls, so link me to the threads where you immediately brought this up when it was first said.

I'm waiting.........

Call the truth marginalization if you want, but if I am wrong and simply marginalizing, then link me to the thread on this topic when she first made these comments. Link me to the thread from 6 months ago when Michelle first made the comment about being proud.

If they exist on this board, with these same people discussing them, I will never post in these political forums again.

I would, but I take your word and I really don't want you to quit posting in the forum.

:)

How would you prove that?

You've made some weak arguments, but this by far is the weakest... I don't hate you or anyone else, you just made some ridiculous statements and I came out and said so. I listen to talk radio, watch Fox News, etc so I guess I'm what you hate most. I can't post a link every time there's a news story, maybe you don't have a life but I do and I do good to post here as often as I do, but when I post stories doesn not affect the validity of them.

So keep waiting....

By the way, Obama wants to put higher taxes on fuel, I think I posted that a long time ago, does that make it valid? :hi:

what difference does the timing make. I didn't condemn John Wilkes Booth in April of 1865 either, but does that make my condemnation today any less correct?

The bottom line is that she wasn't newsworthy then and she is today. What does that matter? She doesn't get a do over. In fact, I'd say her comments from a while back are more indicative of who she is than anything she might say now, which is being vetted by teams of politicos.
