What normal human being wants to pay more taxes? I can't figure this one out... Ok.. More taxes means less money for me right?

I can't talk to you, you think that Clinton was more incompetent than Bush. That kind of genius is better left alone.

You can't talk to me because you can't come up with reasons why Clinton was a good president, or at least not as bad as Bush. You rgenius speaks for itself.

Maybe you and VK can start your own website about why Bush sucks so much. Why do you think he does? 'Cause you heard it on tv?

And going back to the genius comment, your posts about anything from taxes to Iraq speaks volumes.

you're viewing it all wrong. You pay more taxes so others can have more of your money. You can not view it from a "me" perspective but from a "we". Capitalism has messed up your viewpoint

In your sarcasm are you trying to imply socialism is bad? Everything will be ok once Obama gets elected, just settle down. Don't be bitter.

Oh God, you're so far gone it doesn't even matter. You seriously need to do some investigating on your own time, because you're either totally clueless or you're in the third grade and I don't enjoy debating with either.

Is this similar to not accepting attribution of global warming to man because you read it on the internet?

In terms of percentage, what do you think would be a good guess as to what you have saved in taxes under Bush?

I'm far gone? You just said that people need to stop complaining about raising taxes. I mean, if that's not far gone I don't know what is. Let me make it simple for you...

SOCIALISM IS BAD. YOU DON'T HAVE TO RAISE TAXES TO REDUCE ANY DEFECIT,NOT TO MENTION HIGHER TAXES HURT THE ECONOMY You just had a lesson taught to you from someone who is either clueless or a 3rd grader, so that speaks a lot for you.

EDIT: Oh I made a typo, well I wonder which is worse... your comemnts or a typo. Hmm, life's full of mysteries.

For me - I'm seeing about 1% or so more in take home pay.

The cap gains rate doesn't affect me directly since I'm not buying and selling appreciating assets (putting it away for retirement).

However, I'm generally against raising the cap gains rate since it will likely reduce revenue and raises the cost of capital to businesses that are attempting to grow (employ more people, etc.).

Uh, no because maybe global warming is an agenda? I don't have to look on the internet for that. Try again.

The question still stands....there is a ton of misinformation out there - and red herrings galore. Just because some latch onto something with an agenda in mind doesn't necessarily discredit the issue. For example, do you think that sugar cane farmers want everyone to know about the recent studies that revealed the damaging effects of corn-based ethanol? Yes. Do the sugar cane growers have an agenda - sure...they want to sell their product. Does this make the "fact" (if you buy the science) that corn ethanol is not good any less true...of course not. Certain people take science and will use it to support their agenda...but that doesn't mean the science is completely wrong .. or any less right. Will there be people who still push corn ethanol and produce studies to say why the scientists that say it is bad are wrong? Sure.....there always are...

I don't know how much I'll be posting over the next week because I'm going out to the left coast for a while. If I don't chat with you out there - I'll see you all on the flip side of much wine consumption :)

ARe you saying everyone has an agenda? If so, I agree. My point in the earlier post was some people bash Bush without even realizing why they're doing it. I am familiar with a lot of aspects of Global Warming, and I'm by no stretch an expert, but I have enough info to form my opinion. I personally believe a lot of people such as Al use Global Warming for their own means, and I really think it's just another way of government getting more power, but I digress...

BTW, don't become a lush out in Cali.

I normally dont delve into politics with people because many make it an emotional issue and use their heart instead of their head to feel instead of think. I don't want someone leading my nation who feels instead of thinks.

As far as taxes goes there are Supply siders on both sides of the aisle. JFK believed in cutting taxes as he saw it. The more money people have in their hands the more they will invest and spend. To punish achievement and award those who have will NEVER take a country forward. GWB nor either of these clowns running this time have as much pull on taxes and governing the nation as the leaders of the House and Senate.
If you want examples of Fiscal conservatives on either side here you go.

House Repub- Zack Wamp TN
Sen Dem- Blanche Lincol AR

speaking from someone who deals with high net worth individuals regurally raising the capital gains rate to a hillary's level (i.e. from 15 to 25-30%) would create perhaps the largest market crash in history. everyone with large amounts of low basis stock would be rushing to sell to beat the tax increase date. that would be GREAT for the economy.

Google the term "Laffer Curve". Increased tax rates don't necessarily yield increased revenue.

the laffer curve is model that has been proven over and over again to not work. i believe laffer himself says it was a flawed model.

and the increase in spending created by a decrease in taxes can easily result in higher tax revenue do to higher wages and lower unemployment. there is a reason why our tax revenues have increased dramatically from the recession of 2003.

Yeah after it was shown that 1998 was the warmest year and we have been cooling some since. What I find funny is a while back Gore was pushing for high gas prices because it would "force us to use less", now that we have these prices in the same range he stated would be good left wingers are calling for big oils head. Amazing.

NASA came out and said 1934 was the warmest year.......

Oops.....

NASA Admits that 1934, Not 1998, was the Warmest Year on Record - Associated Content
