If it wasn’t bare “based on recruiting rankings”, then why did we have almost the exact same amount of talent as South Carolina?

If the cupboard wasn’t bare, why did we have fewer 4/5* DBs on our team than everyone except Vandy?
SC had a pretty damn good year last I checked.

I’d have to look at those ratings.

Do the recruiting rankings back that up?

I am talking about a proportional number. like comparing to the Oline. I’m well aware how many DBs play on a given down.

Do the numbers back what up? That we are on par with SC, yes. Within a tenth of a point last season. That we are only more talented than Vandy in the secondary? Yes. SC for example had as many 4* freshmen dbs as we had total 4* dbs

No, the DB talent. I’m willing to concede the talent at DB is below par.

The secondary has the highest scholarship count and yet we can’t seem to get a quality result. You can pick who you want, the issue is Martinez. Hard to fire anyone after a 11-2 season, but if Heupel is giving an honest evaluation, he needs to make a change.
I completely agree. I think if we don’t see significant improvement in the secondary this season changes will be made

I still dont think the issue is Martinez but I agree. If we dont see marked improvement in year 3, its not JUST personnel. However I believe we will see improvement.

Yeah, if he can take the newbies and radically upgrade the production on the field he might be worth a LONNNGGGG contract extension.

Taking the Pruitt leftovers, adding in guys early that would come with the heavier NCAA threat still out there and picking up underperformers from the portal was what it was. This past years on field results gave us a shot at players we can hold him accountable for. Bet CJH will be watching the trends and can handle managing his own staff. How many of the guys Coach provided him do you think would have seen minutes at any other above .500 in conference SEC schools? Name them. Or even supply the guys you think would have adequately performed at corner with development directed by another DB coach.
