Clowney's Season

This VFL is predicting that Clowney has a mediocre season, and reason is simple. If he is as good as so many say, than the opposing coaches wil obviously run their offenses away from him and diminish his stats. He will be out of Heisman hype by Cocks game vs Mizzou, as CBJ and others will not be beat by one defensive player.

This is what happened with Eric Berry in 2009. It could very well continue to happen to Clowney this year.

You've outdone yourself here. If the draft were held today, Clowney would be a top 10 pick.

The draft can't come soon enough for this head case. Even ESPN is doubting him after only two games and they are the group that set him up to be the NCAAF Mesiah. His stats stink, he's not in the shape he should be and now he is questioning the coaches for how they use him? Next!

Lol, slow down scooter. I think his crazy stats last season is what set him up with all this hype. Season is very young, he will get his numbers.

Steve Spurrier: 'We hashed it out'

Maybe only Spurrier was capable of predicting that after just two games into the season that he would be having heart to heart conversations w/Clowney, which btw are making headline news on ESPN. OK, so he gets some sacks against Vandy, KY and their homecoming foe but his stock has dropped significantly since their first game - agreed??

No, I dont agree his stock has dropped. You do realize at this point of the season last year, he had 1 more tackle than this year. Just realized you live in NC........it all makes sense now

Well, we will just have to dig out this thread every 3-4 weeks and see if Spurrier can rearrange his teams defense to position Clowney somewhere on the line that he can make more tackles. Sure as heck can't afford to upset Clowney.

The thing about a player like Clowney is he only needs to make a play or two to affect a game (see 2012 against us). He's still a physical freak and he's still learning.

Exactly... He's a game changer and Coaches plan around him..

Anybody want to refute this dead nuts on prognostication made prior to the first snap of the CFB season??

Seeing as there has never been a defensive player only to win the Heisman, there was little chance he would even be invited to NYC. However, to act as though he isnt a monster force on the field and that he is "overhyped" is a bit ridiculous IMO. He is a player that forces an offense to completely plan around and even if he doesnt play another snap this season, he will be a high first rounder.

Never said anything about his NFL stock but do seriously believe his medical woes and mental issues will make some teams pass him by. League already full of head cases

Clemson fans on gameday taking shots at Clowney. One sign said he was out with gingivitis.
