Coach Cal dissing Tiger High

Meh I wouldn't include Texas in there with those others

the lack of a ceiling is why I posted them and because Smart just went there. The money, facilities, Longhorn Network and easy ability to recruit puts them in ceiling-less territory. That's different than calling them an elite program.

One of the few times in his life Calipari has actually made sense. Wish elite high school recruits could realize this as well.

And, regarding the weatherman, what the hell is he? Some sort of walking stereotype of a rich, privileged Memphis prick? Good lord, what a clown that guy looks like.

Just that weatherman's outfit disqualifies him from making any statement about sports, IMO.

Truth is, Memphis can be successful, but only recently has it joined a conference that allows it to play with the big boys. The only reason it had success was because Cal cheated, and got highly ranked boys to play there, which got them preseason honors, and they had enough talent to beat some early season out of conference teams, and then cruised through an easy Conference USA schedule right into the postseason. Anybody is happy with the post season when you're Memphis.

But saying he wouldn't take him back? Laughable.

Memphis basketball relevance didn't begin with Calipari. They made him a top 5 coach in terms of compensation in 2008. For him to say that he was playing with plastic knives and forks is disrespectful considering the platform and pay that he enjoyed while there. They aren't Kentucky, but they aren't some 2-bit program either.
