A Cinncy team that might lose to Duke after losing basically their entire coaching staff has nothing to do and will have no affect on the football program at UT. It's not like the players for UT are going to line up for the first snap of the first game next season and go OH GOD Coach Butch Jones old team lost to Duke last year in their bowl game, were gonna lose this game for sure.

His system, players, and 2nd in command, are still there and it's not working against Duke. It is what it is.

No they aren't you freakin moron. They're all in Knoxville! If Saban leaves Bama and they lose 4 game next year no one is going to say its because Saban didn't coach them up good enough before he left.

It may be his system but guess what butch jones wasn't there in the film room a doing pre game prep. He isn't there to make adjustments and he isn't calling the plays. He has no effect on the motivation of this cincy team. You are so damn stupid. Seriously.

Here is the question that anyone hyperventilating needs to ask themselves: does a coaching staff matter, or not?

If it doesn't, this game should scare us, but we should have kept Dooley and Sal to avoid the buyout. Half time adjustments? They dont matter because it is a system and players, not motivation, inspiration and constant adjustment.

If coaching does matter, we actually should prefer that Cincy gets beat like a drum. That suggests that Jones and his staff could coach a ball game, motivate, and make adjustments to beat a team.

EDIT: to be clear, as someone else mentioned, the outcome of this game is irrelevant to the future of Tennessee football.

I think some of you took potshots at Santa as he flew by this year. Sour pusses united here. If I had the gumption, which I do not, I would at the history of some on here too see if there are ANY positive posts. Any..

I'm going to take a WILD guess that the color commentator doesn't like helmet-to-helmet contact.

Yes, but as the game nears the half he will start focusing on clock management. Ed Cunningham - Mr. Clock Management, himself. He makes watching a game unbearable.

And facts are facts! Sorry if you can't handle reality. Check the scoreboard.

And facts are facts... they have 4 coaches and no co-ordinators! GAs and student volunteers along with a secretary's husband are coaching this team.

If you really believe Cincy's performance tonight translates to next season and beyond, you are an IDIOT!

No man if butch jones was that good of a coach these players wouldn't even need coaches during games. I mean they should be able to just coach themselves. Duh. We're doomed.
