Do no like his answer on Banks. Needs way more transparency on that after it was clear the defense mailed it in to protest him not being allowed to play.
Because we’d like to know whether we should expect another embarrassment this weekNot sure why he needs transparency at all. If it has been handled and taken care of, why does he owe anyone in the media or fanbase an explanation?
I've never understood why fans have this entitlement to know everything that happens in the locker room.
If Hype says its handled and taken care of, that should be good enough for the village idiots.

So you want to know which student athletes were to blame right? I’d love to know what happened but Heupel isn’t going to do that and throw someone under the bus. And honestly everyone would think less of him if he did. This should be resolved in house and hopefully is resolved this week. Coaches know who tried and who quit.Do no like his answer on Banks. It should've been resolved/fixed, and Banks allowed to make the trip.So you want to know which student athletes were to blame right? Imagine pissing away the opportunity to play for a national title in protest to someone getting punished.Because the defense clearly protested him not being allowed to play and mailed it in. That tells me they didn't agree with the decision or the punishment.
Edit - And if it isn't fixed we will get throttled this week too.
We don’t even know what happened. We also don’t know if him being there would’ve effected the outcome of this game. I do think there’s still a lot of quit in the defense of this team though and that’s sad bc some guys are playing their asses off out there as well.It should've been resolved/fixed, and Banks allowed to make the trip.

Compare the lack of effort to the LSU/UK/Pitt games where the defense played way above their talent. Even without Banks on a bad player night with bad coaching, it should have been competitive. Losing worse than any Bob Shoop, Sal Sunseri, or any UT defense since 1893 is an obvious tell that it’s more than an off night. If your eyes can't tell they did by how they played I'm not going to be able to help you.
Exactly-you have NIL and an essentially restriction free transfer portal. You should be able to fill gaps from G5/JUCO teams like picking produce at KrogerThis problem with the secondary should have been noticed last spring and addressed accordingly....either try to bring in some better players and pray, or try to up-coach them. Hard to imagine being this point in the season and having players struggle like they did Saturday for whatever reason it was.
I'm completely onboard with your version. No way the players "protested" with all of that on the line. They just got distracted and then exposed.Imagine pissing away the opportunity to play for a national title in protest to someone getting punished.
I don’t believe it’s that simple. I think one we suck and two we were distracted by whatever went down with Banks.

...and throw in having to go play on the road at night in the SEC and it was a recipe for disaster. The defense was overmatched. They got whipped repeatedly, and then they realized they were not going to win, they quit. Not sure why you think it was some kind of protest. Even if they thought something was unfair, there was too much on the line to play soft in protest. Your theory makes no sense to me.

Huepel is not a defensive coach. He has to trust someone else to be the "expert". This D has not played to the level of the talent it has in the secondary. That falls on the DC.We don't have good secondary players yet. Takes time to build a team with quality starters and quality depth. This is only Heupels second year. Give it some time.
