Coach in waiting....

How good of a coach is Marshall, frenchfry? thanks in advance.

Hes done well wherever hes been in the past. He single handedly made Winthrop a household name in the NAA tourney for years. He took a mediocre Whichita State team and turned them into a force in the MVC. I think he's as good a candidate for any. He's been doing more with less his whole career. It would be interesting to see what he could do with the same benefits and facilities as the top programs in the country.

1. Danny Manning! Had a great college and NBA back ground. Been around Larry Brown, Roy Williams and now Bill Self as an Assistant at Kansas. He's ready to go! Tell me he couldn't get some recruits, and Self ain't going anywhere!

I like this idea. I think could be a great coach. The announcers were talking about him wanting a HC position last night during the KU-Cal game....

No they are not. The other three are speculative at best but Mizzou has much better basketball facilites.

We have one of the nicest and biggest arenas and a fantastic practice facility. No way Mizzou is much better... That's laughable.

Our facilities are better - better fans - better athletic department overall (a lot better) - and most importantly, more money.

Conference prestige doesn't seem to hurt Memphis.

Better fans? Have you read the thousands of fire pearl threads we have, not including this one? Passionate, yes. But everyone wants to fire a guy with a .700 winning pct

TBA is big but I wouldnt consider it "nice". Mizzou Arena was built in 2002 and has all the most recent technology and NBA features. It seats 15,000 as well.

From former Tiger beat writer and new national columnist Dan Wolken on the subject:

@homefry20 It's not a slam dunk, you could probably argue either way, but facilities are about equal. Mizzou historically more successful.

He cheated - our fans have a right to be mad and want him fired. Our program is going to take a big hit because of his actions.

Our practice facility blows anything Mizzou has out of the water and our arena is very comparable.

His winning percentage has nothing to do with the fire Pearl sentiment, something you apparently can't understand.

And were also paying attention to the basketball program because of his actions. Without bball, the past 6 years of football would have been miserable.

Nah - I've pretty much loved watching Tennessee basketball from about the age of 10...even as up and down and just plain bad as we were.... around the same time I started caring about UT football.

Shockingly there were people who cared about the program before Bruce got here.

I'd love to see the reactions on here from the trailer park contingency of the Volnation if Stephen Pearl was hired as head coach. Now THAT would be awesome.

Does Larry Brown own any land in East Tennessee?

The land that Jon Gruden owns was just subdivided and and the new home construction has begun. The new owner of the plot is........LARRY BROWN!

O'Neill, who served as Tennessee's men's basketball coach from 1994-1997, was particularly impressed with the arena's makeover.

"Whoever did this did a helluva job; it's first class," O'Neill said. "It's one of the most impressive arenas in the country."

But what does O'Neill know about nice arenas?
