Awesome!! Shoulda mentioned VN haha but I also find it really cool that he's eating at a Waffle House at this time of the night. Just a regular ole butch.

When you travel a lot, you realize that after 10 Waffle Horse is the only thing out there resembling real food. Dudes got experience it seems.

Exactly.....it was one of the few choices available and this one is right off the exit....They were there a max of 30 minutes

Had the chance to chat with CBJ and CTT tonight in Waffle House. They were both very friendly and actually bought our meal. Not sure who they were visiting but they had just come from an in home, as they were discussing their gut feelings regarding mom and dad's demeanor and such. I got to chat with them for a few minutes and of course, I had to let them know how much we are all counting on them. "We're gonna get it done, Scott" he said.

I don't see very much orange in this picture :lolabove::lolabove:

I wish you would have shared some concern from the Vol faithful about lack of ability thus far to close the deal on any of these big time prospects like Green, Bell and Lawson. I like Butch so far, but coming in second and just getting guys to visit UT, is not gonna get the job done. We've got to have a coach who is an expert salesman, that can close the sale on these prospects. I'm still holding out some hope for a strong finish and decent class, but its not looking real promising at this point.

WTF do you expect the man to do in two months? He's a COACH not a miracle worker

Hope they were visiting Jalen Ramsey. Ya know, the five star CB who goes to Brentwood Academy. Would certainly be a dramatic finish on NSD.

If they swung Ramsey, that'd be the biggest coup in a long time. Bigger than Bryce Brown, even though he was #1 overall. Imagine Bell and Ramsey. Imagine how if we could JUST get whatever in-state talent we wanted like we used to, how quickly things would turn around.

I believe Butch when he says they'll get it turned around. I liked Dooley and I hoped for him to get it done, but I didn't believe it.

Living in the Nashville area, I hope he was talking to Jalen Hurd for next year. This would be huge if we could get him especially since Green passed. New to VN and not sure if this has been talked about, but are we recruiting him heavily?

Welcome to the board.

Jalen has a thread in the recruiting forum.

Your supposition may well have been true. I saw the following posted recently this evening on the Jalen Hurd thread:

"Here's a little update, or big for Vols fans, on 2014 five-star running back Jalen Hurd. Tennessee head coach Butch Jones was by Beech today to talk to the coaching staff, of course and been seen by Hurd.

The big part of this post is Hurd will be making an unofficial visit to Tennessee Feb. 16 for the Kentucky hoops game. He and his family will be spending exclusive one-on-one time with the Tennessee coaching staff."

Yes, by all means, this is EXACTLY what he should have done. Pi$$ and moan at the NEW coach for not getting the job done, ignoring the fact that he hasn't even SIGNED HIS FIRST CLASS YET. Why, why can't we just be positive until we have a reason not to be?? He has been on the job less than two months. Let the man do his thing and support the VOLS.

Yes he has been on the job two months with very little to show for it, although there is still hope until signing day. Even Dudley Doolittle secured several high rated recruits who were committed to other teams and he only had two weeks. As for support, if he can't close the sale on more than just one or two big time players then he won't likely win games or have any support at all a couple of years from now.

That's because not everybody wears the orange tinted glasses. I'm still excited about BJ being our coach, I just accept the fact that he hasn't had much success with recruiting so far. I do expect it to be much better in the future, as should you.

Look at my past posts. This stuff has been commented on in 100 threads and will probably in another 100 because people start useless threads.
