SIAP, but this just goes to show what a great job CBJ is doing representing Tennessee football and getting people to take notice. Also, Volnation gets some credit for being the greatest fanbase in the country.

Might as well catch Les, too.

1. Les Miles, LSU 121K
2. Butch, UT 103K
3. Brian Kelly, ND 102K
4. Mark Richt, GA 92K
5. Bielema, Arky 78K

Bielema? Given that he's pretty much isolating his team and kinda calling out the Arky fan base, look for "Bert" to fall off this list soon enough.

Since he got almost half the followers his first week here, I doubt this is really a reflection of his efforts (or more precisely, the efforts of whoever in the AD tweets for him) to get noticed.

This goes with the territory of having a passionate fan base. Why else would Bielema have 80,000 followers? What has he done to get people to take notice?

Embarrass himself. Perhaps you haven't followed the news concerning his wife tweeting "Karma" to Wisconsin fans when they lost and him making comments against other coaches etc. Sure, he has picked up followers but some and/or many of them are not fans of his that's for sure.

Perhaps not to you or me, but recruits are the twitter generation. I predict that Butch will be no. 1 in this ranking in less than a year. He and his staff believe strongly in Twitter as a marketing tool for our program, one that costs absolutely nothing.

Where does Saban rank? He seems to be doing fine and not among the leaders in twitter followers.

I don't Twitter, but I created an account just so I could "follow" CBJ. Go Vols!
True Vol IMO!

I already addressed this point in post no. 13 on the previous page. To reiterate, "I didn't suggest that recruits would "pick a school [based on] a coach's twitter following." There is no question, however, that recruits use that medium extensively. In Butch's case, his following on Twitter is simply indicative of how aggressively he is marketing our program. Saban, on the other hand, has no need to be concerned with social media; he has the no. 1 program in the country and all the ESPN coverage he could possibly want."
