Would love to see it but Kiffin won't let it happen. He will do what it takes to keep his partner in crime. Wish it would happen though. Not sure that even with O's reputation as an excellent recruiter that with the sanctions on them and being able to only sign 10 a year that they would hit a home run with each one of those guys. Either way if he stays or goes, the sanctions are going to really hurt them.

if someone has an account on WE ARE SC you should post the rumor about O.. I bet they offer to get the moving van if he would take Monte with him...

Sometimes life is this simple. I guarantee Gruden doesn't make this move to Miami. If by some miracle he does, I will come back on here and admit I was wrong.

I never would have thought he'd take the job but with the Miami Harold reporting it yesterday, who was I to argue? I had no grounds to dispute it. Hence saying "Jon Gruden is apparently going to take a 1 million dollar pay cut for a more stressful job.

I'm not that smart, but didn't Coach O have a HC job somewhere? How did that work out?

Yeah, Ole Miss. He failed as a coach, but brought in some big talents like Michael Oher, Dexter McCluster, Mike Wallace, Jevan Snead (1 year at least), and Greg Hardy. He was great at recruiting.

Basically the sole reason why OM even got those two 9-4 records in Nutt's first 2 seasons was because of Ed O's talent. He just couldn't coach em.

No way, he would go to another place as a DC before heading there. He may bail on a sinking ship but he has better options than ULL, I would think he could go to several NFL teams or NCAA teams within a day if he wanted.

Not as a head coach he doesn't. He failed as a HC before so he is going to have to start low and work his way up if he wants to take a stab at it again.

It's very close to home for Orgeron.

As I said before, I bet he takes it. Close to home, it's a challenge, but with his recruiting ability he brings in a few good players and he could dominate the sun belt. I think he could see this as a place where with his recruiting ability he could win some games and parlay it into an HC job at a good school. But the sun-belt is where coaching careers go to die.
