To keep his job. What an amazing turn around at the best time. Even when a large % of the fan base was calling for his job, praying for a loss to prove their point, he kept the team poised and have been playing some great basketball

The Bruce Pearl petition signers should go find another team to root for.

But I am sure we'll get some more middle school coaching basketball insight from the usuals.

He has them hot. Changed some things up. Pg gets the ball more. Feeding the post earlier. More attacking on both ends. Its as if they rallied around the talk. Next time, don't wait that long and you get support.
Its ashame fans have to get emotional about it instead of realizing he has coached poorly, has lost us important games, but has them rolling now and playing the best ball since early-mid BP years.

Good wins...bad teams...win two games in the SEC Tourney and make the field...Hart definitely keeps him...if not?...don't start throwing dirt on the petition yet.

I think it is the same as it was in the beginning of the season. He makes the tourney, he gets another year. He goes deep in the tourney he gets an extension.

This is how the fans expect UT to play...but all season. That's the problem everyone has with CCM. His teams play awful the first 3/4's of the season and then start to get things together and then lay an egg in the SECT and barely miss the NCAAT. Either way though good win today and let's just hope this continues into the SECT.

Dont waste your time. Too many kids and emotional folk in here to analyze the coaching and situation.

The performance over the past three games has been remarkable.
But, we have not made the tournament yet. If we lose next Friday and miss the NCAAs, then this season will be a complete failure, despite blowing out three teams that will probably not be in the tournament over the past week.

I hope this is a sign of things to come, and we show up ready to play our best basketball next week.
But, I've seen our team fail in the SEC quarterfinals with the NCAAs on the line in each of the past two years.

Let's get behind these guys, yes. But, I think it's premature to declare that Martin should keep his job. This only looks like an amazing turnaround because of the poor play that preceded it.

I'm not saying tennessee won't make the tournament, but I love all these delusional people who get way too excited by Tennessee's end to the season. The previous 2 years, tennessee has ended the year just as dominate, and with better winning streaks going into the SEC champ week, but they haven't made the tournament either year. I would love nothing more than to make the tournament, but just because lunardi might bump us up to "last 4 with bye" doesn't mean anything. Lets just calm down, because if we lose first game of the SEC tournament, and don't make the ncaa tournament, you''re just giving the Cuonzo haters more fuel to work off of.

Great, we beat 2 terrible teams and one team who beat us already and isn't a tourney team.

The point is we are still a bubble team. In a crappy conference like the SEC this should not be the case. Losing twice to T A&M and Vandy are inexcusable. If we lay an egg in the SEC tourney, we still may not get in. That is Cuonzo's fault.

And does anyone think we're going to be better next year??? I'm sure a majority of people would say no.
