What’s funny is people think that just because someone provides information that doesn’t pan out they think someone is full of sh*t, or doesn’t have sources. Apparently things can’t change. I even think the people that were saying Gruden were likely getting info, but things didn’t work out. I guess it’s too hard to comprehend

I know a guy. And Gruden was 100% interested, and contacted guys about being on his staff. But it didn't work out. So it never happened.

I know how the game is played.

For those giving AV and SF grief, let me offer this.

Back during the last coaching search, when the Gruden rumors were running rampant, I had and still have a friend who flies for NetJets. He made a total of three flights within a week carrying influential UT boosters to various points around the Southeast. He told me, in confidence, that from what he had picked up the pursuit of Jon Gruden was serious. I posted some of it here, and I sent my info to Freak via email. He can confirm that I did this.

And I was wrong. No idea what happened, but I trust both the source and the info. Sometimes, we get bad info. Or things just don’t work out the way we think they will.

So if you want to flame those guys, go right ahead. I cannot throw the first stone here. I’ve been there, and seen how it works when you think you are getting good information from reliable people.

In the end, I believe AD White will bring us the best football coach he can. Until then, all we can do is wait, hope for the best, and bitch at each other.
