Coaches, agents charged by FBI

Idk but if I found out a fellow conference member or rival was doing it I would be the first to say something. I'm not going to let another team cheat and get away with it if I know it's going on.

Also, there has to be evidence. Allegations don't seem to stick to the top programs. Didn't an SEC school submit dozens of pages to SEC office about UCONN recruiting infractions? Nothing ever came of it. So many folks know about Mama Moore's campus condo & Husky purse business. All that came out of that was a secondary slap on the wrist for a visit to ESPN.

Powers that be do not seem to want to admit there are issues with the women's game - especially with its stars.

Why have the NCAA if they did not know what was going on. This might be the end of the NCAA. Although some body is needed to prevent gross cheating, the NCAA has failed. It is difficult to believe that they nor the head coaches did not know about the payoffs.

The FBI forked out over $90,000 to Chuck Person alone in that particular sting...all legal. The NCAA doesn't have those powers. Not a fan of the NCAA, but it took some federal agency shizz to set this whole thing up.

Seeing Auburn, Bama, and SC with some involvement in this. All three have been recruiting like crazy and one had to wonder how they were getting some of the players they were getting.

News said that Chuck Persons from Auburn was involved. Wonder if Coach Pearl knows anything about that?

Absolutely not. I am sure Pearl was amazed that this could happen at his program. Along with Pitino. He had absolutely no knowledge of anything.... It all gets so tired

What is surprising to me is that more have not been charged. The big programs are all intertwined with AAU/Nike/Adidas and crooked as a dog's hind leg......just why was the guy at Kentucky who has been wedded to World Wide Wes and NBA and AAU coaches in the exact same scheme as described in the article since he coached at UMASS and continued thru his stint at Memphis and even intensified at Kentucky not caught in the FBI web ?

those who were caught were individuals that one person identified in a wiretap. Thus every other coach in basketball and football are presumed innocent and all the current players and those being recruited the same. Alex's question in reverse is why has it taken 20 plus years for this to happen.

the loyal fans of U of L will continue to respond "why are they picking on us we know that "everyone" else is doing it. What about (fill in the blanks with other schools)

past history - a sports writer interviewed some years ago some number of bb players from KY prior to existing coach and they were very forward about the perks they had received. (and then a number backpedaled and all was silent).
