Total BS. Like we didn't go down there and smash them fools. But if we had lost, we would certainly dropped. Bogus.

Thank you. I'd give the top three their respect, but come on. We smoke SEC teams to the point that UF & LSU are desperate and didn't really have a chance to win against us. I'm very disappointed in the rankings. Beat Bama and we should be number ****ing one!

I struggle to believe you watched OSU or USC yesterday and then made this comment

I haven’t watched a full Clemson game this year. But they aren’t dominating a fairly weak schedule The only thing any of those teams have over UT is that they play no one the caliber of Bama or UGA

Not true. Polls even now insulate the perception of a team. The higher and longer you are ranked the less you fall with a loss

Sort of. If UT beats Bama I won’t be surprised if they still don’t jump these teams. I won’t be completely surprised if they don’t jump Bama

I don't care where Tennessee is ranked right now. I'm just glad Bama is still #1 so it'll be a bigger deal, more talked about, and more remembered if Tennessee pulls the upset.

Coaches' poll has been slow to change for years. Maybe most of them don't have time to watch many other teams and vote based on prior years' performance and reputation as they perceive it.

All that matters is if we beat bama and Kentucky because on Tuesday November 1st the Tennessee Volunteers will be listed on the first College Football Playoff Rankings!!!!

I've been noticing the Vols were lagging in the coaches poll from the start of the year. Seeing this repeated over the course of a few weeks I began to wonder if these coaches were seeing a flaw in the team somewhere that others simply couldn't pick up on, while opponents to date just didn't have the players or scheme to exploit.

I saw the poll released earlier, and thought how in the hell could coaches of all people not reward these Vols for stomping a team in that stadium...then I decided to look at WHO the coaches were that were voting, among the sixty something # of coaches on the poll are:

Dave Clawson
Butch Jones
Brady Hoke
Greg Schiano

Also of note are former Coaches Sam Pittman, Stan Drayton...

Now, in a COMPLETELY UNRELATED note:

In order to leapfrog over OkSt and USC to #6 and match the AP poll, quick calculation in my head says we needed roughly 52 more points. If 2 coaches were to have placed us at 25 or left us off their poll vote entirely (an oversight I'm sure) for whatever reason, then that would account for most of the lag behind the AP poll.
