Could be a really interesting silly season starting in early december...

We already know of that Minnesota is vacant, and Colorado might as well be.

Texas aTm has turned it around but their schedule is real tough finishing up, if they make a bowl game Sherman should be safe.

Bevo could see a major shakeup in one of two ways: 1) Mack Brown hangs it up, or 2) Georgia fires Mark Richt and Muschamp bolts for the alma mater.

Bill Stewart at West Virginia is a real question mark, as are Michigan, Illinois and Indiana.

In the ACC, Miami, Maryland, and UNC are all question marks, for different reasons. The 'AA could crack down on UNC, forcing their hand with Butch Davis. Ralph Friedgen has a coach in waiting, but maybe the Terps will look for greener pastures... and Miami is in the midst of another underachieving season under Randy Shannon, who's name is already being floated for other vacancies.

Arizona State is another situation to keep an eye on, Dennis Erickson is getting progressively closer to his third straight losing season.

And lets not forget the real elephant in the room... Penn State. Joe Pa picked up his 400th win today, but this season more than any other looks like it could be the end for the legend. If it is the end of days in Happy Valley, keep an eye out for Al Golden at Temple, Greg Schiano of Rutgers, and even Kirk Ferentz at Iowa...unless Penn State hires from within.

I'm sure I've left out some of the smaller conference schools, but this hits the highlights of the BCS gigs.

Anyone want to make any early predictions on who any of these places will go with?

Rich Rod is safe. Has to increase the improvement curve dramatically next year.

This.

Brandon will give him one last shot. Honestly, with 19 starters coming back, 10 wins should be a very reachable goal.

For most teams yes, but I think they'll find a way to not win 10. Just based off of what I've seen from them.

their bright spot however is robinson so I can see 8 wins if he stays healthy.

Only if he fires Greg Robinson. That guy is just awful. How do people keep giving him jobs??

Would Tommy Tuberville bail on Texas Tech to go back to Miami? It seems like a natural fit.

With all of these openings, and potential openings, you know Bobby Petrino is building multiple resumes at monster.com and careerbuilder.com

I think Maryland sticks with Friedgen(sp?) for one more year, although they really shouldn't.

Vandy needs Mike Leach...period...Commodores need to think WAY outside the box...A pirate isn't so much of a stretch for a school with a nautical mascot:thumbsup:

If Vandy can get Mike Leach, they'd be doing well. Muschamp to Vandy would be like Tennessee fans wanting Bill Belichick to be our next coach.

Leach may get a big job, but it will surprise me as damaged as he is. Plus he's cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs.
