Coaching Changes and Flipping Players

I'm a little surprised that this staff isn't going after other players with all of the resent coaching changes that are going on. Or should I say we aren't at least hearing about any. We lost the 24 WR because Golesh left. There are some big schools that lost coaches and we definitely have spots to fill like RB, Safety. LB (still hope for Carter but Saban is the Devil) and CB. Is anyone hearing of any possible High School players or are we putting all of our hopes into the Transfer Portal? Do you think the open OC and TE position coaching slots are playing a roll because Golesh was a strong recruiter?

Have you taken the time to look at the recruiting class coming in?

Do you honestly think they are just sitting around twiddling their collective thumbs. Just because there isn't an announcement every day from the recruiting side doesn't mean none is happening. They have a decent class already. I trust them to recruit the players they need to be ready for next year and beyond. You have an odd tilt to your posts for someone who just joined a week ago. Who did you post as before?

Agreed. I do think the next change in recruiting will be changing the scholarship numbers. How the hell can anyone maintain 85 with the debacle of transfer portal and NIL? The number for 25 max out of HS anymore will not offset transfer and graduation attrition.

No. You can take as many as you want from what I understand. However... you have to be at the 85 limit by the time Fall practice starts.

So I ask some questions and I'm saying our class is trash, the coaches are lazy or stupid. Why are some of you folks so angry and just attack any one for everything? Y'all do understand asking questions means you are looking for information, not making a statement? I don't think the 25 limit counts anymore but it's 85 total. If you have a player committed but can upgrade why not? I do agree culture matters. Pride85 you have an odd tilt to your posts as well. Always been G-boro Vol. Reading Comprehension is a lost art.

I get it now you have 20 posts and you are raising a lot of questions.
You call this class trash and mentioned a 2024 recruit WR decommitting. So what? Recruit or move on

Stick around for a while.

Building a team and a culture is a little more than jumping into the portal and upgrading.

I am not sure why you would question an 11th rank recruiting class and call it trash.

Recruiting is simple it is about need vs shiny objects... We are filling needs and this class will more than likely break the top 10 when the dust settles. Roster Management is the key and since you don't have access to the the War Room you can't really state what you are stating until all is said and done.

So in a nice way I am saying STFU and don't panic Alice...

If you are a troll, go the F away find you another Board to act like Chicken Little.

We need to check IDs or give a pretest before allowing some into Volnation.

Why would we want JW as coach? He has no previous coaching experience. He was a good player for the Vols but you really think he would be an upgrade to any of our existing coaches. He wouldn’t coach defensive backs would he? Then the answer should be no.

I agree. We might not be "done" but the few slots remaining have targets. Some may not be in the portal yet. Just like HS recruiting, I don't think the staff is going to take just anyone. Fit has to be there. I'm not sure that we shouldn't save a couple of spots for after spring ball. Never know who might "flip" off our roster once spring ball concludes.
