My daughter goes to Coastal. It was rumored that Caldwell and McCall (QB) were both leaving before bowl game. Caldwell got more $ than what Coastal could match. McCall was discussed as transferring to FL before his injuries were known.

Liberty is really committed to their athletics and have spent accordingly. I don’t know how their facilities and extras compare to Coastal Carolina’s, but would guess they have a lead.

Florida and Auburn dooking it out recently. Florida’s recent recruiting seems like they’re willing to light the landfill on fire. Auburn’s next step is a tire fire.

Yes there is a difference. As long as you stay North then I guess you’d be as safe as you could be. The elected officials, and the crime that reigns over it just isn’t for me.

I’ve heard several times that Gatlinburg/ Pigeon Forge is the beach without an ocean so there’s that.

I completely get it man. I’m pretty disgusted with what has been going on in downtown Myrtle for a little while . They’ve really let it get out of control with the crime and the gang activity coming in from Conway and Loris. It really is a shame because it used to be a fun place to go hang out as a little kid and then go up and down the Strip as a teenager . The Town really needs to start a revitalization program that attracts decent restaurants and businesses to the area again. Elevated, Rooftop/ open air types places would be a good start. Getting rid of some of the airbrush t shirt shops, the 4:20 stores, henna tattoo stuff would be ideal too.

Gatlinburg/ Pigeon Forge is Myrtle Beach in the mountains. Same stores, same outlets, a lot of the same shows. I love going there in the fall.

So crime coming from Conway SC, that is where Costal Carolina University is located and 14 miles from Myrtle so basically the same place, in the big scheme of things.

It is and it isn’t . They’re both in Horry County and Coastal is located off of Hwy 501. It’s a long 14 miles from downtown Conway to Downtown Myrtle, especially during tourist season. There are about a million stoplights to get from one to the other.

It was a place where millions went to for vacations. If they would tighten up and clean up the area and invest in it then it could be turned around. They just have to commit to it though. Like you said bringing nicer restaurants and getting rid of the slum shops the rest could take care of itself

Through my corporate role, I’m very active with the Myrtle Beach Chamber. There’s lots of exciting work being done on downtown revitalization. The future is bright!
