Cohen likely to cooperate with prosecution

You know at least when they went after Capone with the tax fraud ish they attacked him directly instead of going after lieutenants. Weak.

Lanny Davis, an attorney for former longtime Donald Trump lawyer Michael Cohen, said he has been reaching out regularly over the last few months to John Dean, the former White House counsel who helped bring down the presidency of Richard Nixon.

Cohen has sent signals that he might cooperate in the investigations surrounding his former boss. The fact that his lawyer is talking frequently to Dean — who was name-checked by Trump Sunday in the context of recent reports that White House counsel Don McGahn is cooperating with investigators — adds new hints that Cohen could be open to being a potential witness in any case against Trump.

Federal prosecutors in New York are in the final stages of the investigation into President Trump's former personal lawyer Michael Cohen, and could file charges by the end of August, according to a person familiar with the matter. Federal authorities are investigating whether Cohen committed bank or tax fraud in connection with his financial and business dealings including loan activities.

Investigators are also examining whether Cohen violated campaign finance and other laws by helping to arrange payment deals to secure the silence of women who said they had affairs with Mr. Trump.

It is still possible Cohen will plead guilty rather than face an indictment, the person familiar with the matter said. It is unclear whether Cohen and prosecutors are in discussions about a plea agreement.

There's discussion that Michael Cohen may have reached a plea deal. This might be the best week of Trump's Presidency yet. I keep running out of popcorn.

I'm getting tired and just want to enjoy the VOLS Football season. I hope this all ends soon so we can all get along again.

Per @KaraScannell, Cohen isn't flipping, he's just agreeing to plea guilty. I assume that means one of three things is true 1. He doesn't want to cooperate 2. Doesn't have anything of value 3. The Feds already have what he's willing to offer
