Coker.........

All three are excellent backs, they just bring totally differemt elements to the game...I just think criticizing Foster when he doesn't have a good game is dead WRONG, I think he can be just as productive if given the same amount of carries, And there aren't that many carries to go around for 3 backs, Who's ever hot get's the bulk of the carries, today Lamarcus was blazin hot, I mean HOT!!! With the passing game being the strength of our team now, We'll probably see the backs get 20 rushes between them...I'll always be a Foster fan as well as Coker/Hardesty, I think we need to pick them up rather than critcize them..Foster had excellent games against Vandy and Kentucky last year...

It's one thing to root for them, and another thing to evaluate their play.

Foster is a good player for our team. But Coker appears head and shoulders above the other two right now based on 11 games this year.

I don't think Coker is "hot" so much as he is better.

If our guard play doesn't get fixed it won't much matter against a good team.

So our offensive line is much worse than last years? Is this why Foster is not running any where like last year, and the reason Coker is doing so well is his speed makes up for the lines inability to block?

if he doesn't stop somersaulting into the endzone everytime he scores, this whole discussion may be brief...:jpshakehead:

Coker's speed masks a multitude of ineptitude. Take out the long run and calculate his yards per carry. It was pretty pedestrian.

I'd like to leave the long run in if it's all the same to you. :rock2:
I agree with the sentiment. I was merely pointing out that Coker's speed masks the ineffectiveness of the line more than Foster and Hardesty are able to.

he had 10 rushes for 126 yards with the long one being 87 yards. If you calculations and take away the long run from his total and divide by 9, he comes out at 4.33 yards per carry. Thats not pedestrian to me.

Against Vanderbilt, that's the very definition of pedestrian.

Yeah, I guess I'm just overly exited because we actually ran the ball decent for once. Because a good rushing day has been so rare this year, I guess I didn't really even consider who we were playing.:eek:k:

I think if you take away Coker's blazing speed, he would have just as much trouble picking up yards as the other two backs. A lot of his yards come from running around the offensive line. That's not exactly finding a hole.

Which game were you watching? Could it be that he hits the hole much quicker (than Foster or Hardesty). The line doesn't have to hold thier blocks as long when he is in the game. The longer runs he made today were on counter plays. On the long run he obviously wasn't touched although there were 7 at the line.

I watched more than one UT game this year. I've seen every carry Lamarcus has had as a Vol.

What percentage healthy was Coker coming into today anyway? Hopefully he will be close to 100 next week

give this kid every snap he can play, at least hes doin something with it. I know he was injured today which may have lowered his snaps but we need to pick one of these 3 guys and make him our back and feed him the ball enough for him to rack up some yards and I think Coker is that guy.
