I like this team but the truth is this team beat Mizzou in the first game convincingly but since then has lost every game to other top teams in the SEC; Alabama, Florida, Mizzou & LSU. Every game they’ve won has been vs the bottom half of the SEC.
And Kansas, like Ky, is big name but is about the same as lower half of the league. Jmo.
Unfortunately this is the ugly truth. This team can have a good shooting night, but has shown they are not consistent enough to beat good teams.
Not sure what happened to our defensive ability to shut teams under 60, either. This part frustrates me more, because this was more of our identity. We can shoot good enough to win a 65-58 game. But, not good enough when teams are pushing in the upper 70s to 80s.
At this point, a sweet 16 or SEC championship appearance feels like the ceiling.
It hasn't ? I definitely think our offense looks better, since the Kentucky game. Yeah, we laid an egg against LSU, but Springer is becoming "The MAN" and Keon is looking for his shot, even more, too. Imo, UT is starting to peak at the right time. Gotta get Pons and Fulk, healthier and/or hope ON continues to improve. Free Corey Walker, PLEASE !Teams have gotten better offensively as the season has progressed. At least most teams. Ours hasn’t.

As do I. But like Dykes said, LSU played their best game of the year, defensively. I'm sure that's partly on UT's bad shooting, but also shows how good LSU could be on defense. I'm sure Wade used UT's defensive reputation to get the best out of all those athletes that LSU has, that prefer not to play defense, most games.I hope you are right but Ky & LSU are two of the worst defensive teams in the league. When Ga got aggressive after falling behind by 20, they really clamped down the offense.
Barnes has whiffed on recruiting a big man the past several years and it has come back to haunt him. The only 2 decent ones he has recruited since he’s been here left. Derrick Walker having a good season at Nebraska . Why he recruited Plavisc, Anosike and Pember is a mystery To me.Vescovi is nothing more than a spot up shooter that gets hot every once in a awhile. To steamy! And a liability on defense those quicker point guards blow right past him. He he gets caught in the air or picking up his dribble. Wish Chandler would’ve reclassified. Barnes really should’ve addressed the paint recruiting this last year and it appears the same his happening for ‘21-‘22.
Comparing Green to Barnes is laughable. Are you seriously saying Green is a better recruiter or coach than Barnes?
I feel like you've posted this same comment 3 or 4 times nowThis team could lose to Austin Peay....and conversely beat almost any team in the top 10 outside of Baylor and Gonzaga. Waaaay too inconsistent. The only consistent thing about this team is its inconsistency. I could see them scoring 80 in the first round in a blowout win...then losing in round 2 only scoring 50 to a "lesser" team.
I didn’t really say that Green was better than Barnes. However, when you compare their records at TN it might be difficult to argue otherwiseComparing Green to Barnes is laughable. Are you seriously saying Green is a better recruiter or coach than Barnes?
