I am so happy for Worley, I could almost cry. A kid that has stayed the course and was doubted by his own coaching staff.

Happy or trying to cover humiliation?

Just give it up. "Doubted by his own coaching staff"? The more people open up about the "competition", the more it appears that it was never a "close competition".

Someone :whistling: kept telling some of you that the most meaningful thing we could see from practice reports was that Worley was taking the vast majority of #1 reps.

There is little indication that the coaches have "doubted" him all year.

I think you will find I have always been in worley's corner. The staff doubted him last year inserting peterman at Florida.

Don't understand this poison against Coach Fulmer. He won 150 games and a National Championship that was done the right way. He's a good man and a VFL.

It isn't poison against Fulmer as much as those who refuse to see that his time had come and gone. It happens and the end wasn't pretty.... but Fulmer for many reasons was not longer the guy to lead UT football.

But you have a handful of true "fulmerites" that just won't let go and admit it.

We catch the red team the week after they play the Aggies in Tuscaloosa. Let's hope A & M rolls into Tuscaloosa unbeaten for the game of the century. The following week our fan base will be spitting nails when lane Kiffin shows up on the sidelines of our arch rival. I will be there personally to heckle mr Kiffin as he departs the bus entering neyland stadium!
In all seriousness, we cannot afford to lose aj,sutton, or Worley as all three are playing at an all sec level. I am so happy for Worley, I could almost cry. A kid that has stayed the course and was doubted by his own coaching staff.
Suddenly, eight or even nine wins is not unattainable. We are going to be a very dangerous team in November. We need to come out of Oklahoma and Georgia healthy. Then we see what happens the rest of the way.
Go Vols!!!

Lane will not be on the sideline. Hell, Lane might not even be in the press box.

He might have to skype in play calls from a bunker in SoCal.

Are you not over Lane Kiffin yet? Let it go man, you'll feel better. I can honestly say that on October 25th, I'll spend as much time thinking about Lane Kiffin as I do any other opposing assistant coach that comes into Neyland. Which isn't much.

Neyland will be louder than ever and we have a fast, young, hungry team.

It's going to be interesting.

Still the most divided fan base in America. We win, fans are excited and of course the comments here are always amazing.

And then there is that hand full of people who can't admit that it was the worst decision in UT history. Or have you been asleep for the past 5 years?

5-7 or 6-6. Period.

Very absolute of you.

Are you even a fan of this team?

I get the whole wanting to be realistic thing. I really do. But you take it to a whole new level. It's almost as if you want the team to fail so you can tell a bunch of strangers on a message board that you were right. That's not the right attitude to have as a fan. Maybe it's the right attitude to have if you plan on getting into sports journalism and have no ties to UT whatsoever. But you call yourself a fan. Not a journalist. Do you have a blog?

Sometimes I like to take myself away as a fan to really judge the team. Even when I do that, I didn't see anywhere close to a 5-7 football team on the field last night. I've played football. I've coached youth football. I've watched every UT game since 1993. I've watched countless hours of football in general. That's not a 5-7 club. If we were in the west maybe I could see your point. But we aren't.

The only people still acting this way are rival fans that are lying to themselves. And even most rival fans see an upswing.

My opinion could certainly change as the season goes on. Injuries could happen. Maybe the freshman hit a wall. But as of now we look like an 8 win football team at the very least.
