College football top 25 in NIL spent

If this article is true, UT needs to double their amount spent. If you want to have the Jimmy's and Joe's, you better pony up the dough and gold! I would actually like to see where UT would finish in recruiting with a top 3 NIL money spent to get the Jimmy's and Joe's!

I also think Nico is getting way too much of the amount spent. Is he really getting about 2 million a year? If so, UT isn't getting their money's worth for Nico! He didn't impress at all most of the year. Yes, the OL could have played better. But, he should have played a ton better considering the ton of money he is getting. If the team was pissed because Nico's parents were asking for more NIL money, UT should have let him walk and got a proven stud in my opinion. I haven't seen anything to say he is going to be the stud he is supposed to be soon!

Idk if this article is true but I do know we beat 3 of the teams in the top 10 over the last 2 years. Thats pretty good.

Sigh…. Love how this BS gets passed around like it’s fact. Article is BS. Only number we know for relatively sure is Ohio State bc their AD said publicly how much they spent. Ironically when we were involved for David Sanders with them; Ohio State said it was hard to counter Tennessee’s offer and that our NIL was one of the top ones in the country. Seems like there’s some BS misinformation every so often that hurts the efforts of Spyre.

Hard for me to believe that Oregon is only spending $10 million with Phil Knight behind them.

Does the blank space mean they just don’t know what the school is spending? Because Ole Miss is certainly spending a bunch since they lead the nation for number of transfers the last couple of years.
It’s not true at all. Numbers are completely made up. Ohio State is one of the biggest NILs but even they can’t compete with the likes of Texas or Oregon when they want someone.

A blank space would indicate that the team is not in the top 25 in NIL spending, according to the article. For instance, Ole Miss spends $8.8 million which would make them 27th nationally.

30 Mil per year, spent on all sports was the original goal. Sustainable or not?
I think it will reach $50M+ eventually. Some of the funds allocated for facility renovations will have to be reallocated in the future once all the upcoming renovations are completed. I don’t think it’s sustainable to continue upgrading facilities and paying these athletes that kind of money. Maybe upgrade every now and again on a smaller scale but these huge projects will have to go away at some point if they want to be profitable.

Easy to spend money when you don't have skin in the game.

I'm sure the Coach's care about opinions on here. I'm guessing they have a salaried position that monitors opinions and makes decisions based off that.

How many FR play at an elite level their 1st yr as a starting QB? Especially one that has $hitty pass blocking and an embarrassing amount of dropped passes. So, for a RS FR in his first year as a starting QB, he's 11-3 as a starting QB, tied for #2 in the SEC, make it to the CFP in his 1st year, throws for 2600 yards, 64% completion percentage, a 19/5 TD/ Int rate, 364 rushing yards, 3 more rushing TD's, beat our 2 biggest Rivals Ala/ Fla, 145 passer rating and got sacked 28 times.. His numbers were much better than Peyton's his 1st year as a starter, better than DJ Lagway's stats, better than Jalen Milroe's stats. I mean, considering how bad his pass blocking was and all the drops his WR's had. Chris Brazzell was #3 in the SEC with 6 drops.

I saw a stat the other day on dropped passes by TN WR',s on on target passes.

In 2021 and 2022, Hendon Hooker had his WR's drop 9.1% on his on target passes both years. In 2023 Joe Milton had his WR's drop 10% of his on target passes. Now to Nico..He had 15.8% of his on target passes dropped. His WR's didn't help him at all.
You can try to tip the table all you want. 6.7% wouldn't make a difference in yards completed on the year for him had Nico hit a lot more deep passes this season. I am not at all saying Nico was the problem this year with the O. I am saying he didn't look like an 8 million dollar man!!!

Ok, since you are the know it all here. Why don't you compose a chart listing the real amounts for each of the top 25 teams in the AP at the end of the season? Who are you to be the know it all here?

Those are made up numbers FWIW. They could be fabulously accurate, but we'll never know.
I don’t think they are. From what I’ve heard from someone that should know, we were more like $20M while Ohio State is about $30M.

Edit: It is interesting that according to what I was told the spread between us and OSU is about right. I wonder if everyone is off $10M or so?

I’m pretty sure we have the money to spend or we can absolutely get it. I still think the real question is if we can convince the top tier players to come here to begin with so we can actually spend top dollar on them.
You don't think we get top tier players? So when schools like Bama,UGA,LSU,OSU offer a kid and he chooses us-that's not top tier?
I'm confused by your statement of not convincing top tier players to come here.
