I don’t even think Chris Fowler hates Tennessee. He‘s just a snob who made an offhand comment when he got annoyed at the blowback from Tennessee fans because ESPN was pushing the Woodson for Heisman narrative. And that was 27 years ago.

He has said multiple times that he regrets his comment, and he seems to really enjoy college sports, no matter who is playing. He’s probably still a snob, but I don’t think he thinks or cares about Tennessee enough to hate them.

He begrudgingly compliments UT. Seems to kinda like Barnes in his smarmy way but I suspect that's fake to fit in with all the rest of CBB coaches and former players that love Barnes.

Bilas does NOT like the Vols but he barely maintains a level of professionalism so that the hate only slowly oozes out at times, typically using the codeword of "physical".

His general tone and remarks, especially positive remarks gushing over every coach or star player of teams we play, sound like a guy saying "I F'ing hate UT but gotta act like I don't for my job."

ALL the Abc, espn broadcasters/writers were "Encouraged" to push & vote for woodson. What a hatchet job. Never forget....

It was pretty obvious last night, as virtually everything from Bilas seemed to be from the Alabama point of view.

I don't watch any sports TV aside from games (and that with a DVR to avoid halftime, etc.), but reading a lot of national media websites this morning, there really isn't any love for UT. Most articles were more about lamenting the Alabama loss and praising them for holding DK down than anything else. Not sure what we ever did to deserve the level of disdain there seems to be for us, but it's there and often isn't very subtle.

I think the national media's collective heads would explode if we somehow ran the table in March and took home the big prize. Please make it happen.
