College GameDay WILL include Pat McAfee this Fall

Well he has disparaged his employer more than once; and IF his show wasn't so popular, he'd done been gone.
He's one of only 2 "personalities" that people watch that network for (outside of live games). ESPN is paying him hundreds of millions of dollars. Of course he's going to be on that show.

I agree. Considering the subject this should be a very interesting show, but when one of them tells a lame joke and they all bust their sides with fake laughter I switch the channel. Just can’t get past it.

Meh. McAfee's schtick is akin to a toddler smearing poo all over the wall and then yelling for you to look at it. Loudly. Over and over. While clapping.

A more buff Paul Finebaum, then.

From the ESPN standpoint, the upper management may be a bunch of woke dimbulbs but even the dimmest realize that McAfee and Finebaum are the only reason anyone watches the channel other than football and basketball games themselves.

I loved Pat in 2022. ESPECIALLY the SEC Title game. When he sang the Georgia song then said 'GIVE ME ALABAMA!". That was all time. It will be interesting to watch now that they have Saban aswell. I have been saying this for years. But Lee Corso needs to retire. Poor guy.

I STILL wish they'd send Corso out to the same Pasture as Biden...

And bring in Spurrier...

Maybe if he would wear something other than V-neck tshirts and tank tops. There's a place for that at the lake or beach, but it's just cringe for an adult man being broadcast on a national TV sports program.

Thank God I don't even watch College Gameday Brought To You By Fanduel anymore.
Yep. Wouldn’t watch Pat McAfee if you paid me. I only watch SEC Nation on Saturday morning. Laura Rutledge alone is worth that.

It was better when they had Laura, Paul, Marcus spears, and Tim Tebow. Its just gone downhill since. Tim Tebow is really annoying and hard to watch.

Indeed. If the SEC was a solar system, Rutledge would surely be its sun.

But college football fans have been of very different opinions over McAfee's often bombastic presence on the show. A poll taken by The Athletic last football season showed that 48.9 percent of over 3,000 respondents disapproved of him, while 30.1 percent said they liked him, and 21 percent had no opinion.4 mins ago
The key there is that only 21 percent had no opinion. He could’ve gotten a 79% disapproval rating, and he’d be equally valuable to the viewership ratings.

You don't like the 'wife beater' look? :)

John McAfee was assassinated. I can believe it.
The prevailing view is that he committed suicide in prison, in Spain, on learning he was being extradited to the USA for tax evasion. But I just wondered if Pat was related to him.

I may be in the minority here but I love the energy he brings to the set. He took College Gameday up a notch by himself.
Agreed! He is very entertaining. They will have Saban on the show this year aswell! Gonna be a good year for College Gameday.

I think you are right. Younger fans seem to really like him. I always wonder why he is yelling at me and also why he didn’t wait until he was sober to get dressed.

I try to catch 5 minutes or so of Gameday to see the campus spectacle then get some things done so that I can enjoy watching the Vols when the game starts.
