Meh. McAfee's schtick is akin to a toddler smearing poo all over the wall and then yelling for you to look at it. Loudly. Over and over. While clapping.
I loved Pat in 2022. ESPECIALLY the SEC Title game. When he sang the Georgia song then said 'GIVE ME ALABAMA!". That was all time. It will be interesting to watch now that they have Saban aswell. I have been saying this for years. But Lee Corso needs to retire. Poor guy.A more buff Paul Finebaum, then.
From the ESPN standpoint, the upper management may be a bunch of woke dimbulbs but even the dimmest realize that McAfee and Finebaum are the only reason anyone watches the channel other than football and basketball games themselves.

Yep. Wouldn’t watch Pat McAfee if you paid me. I only watch SEC Nation on Saturday morning. Laura Rutledge alone is worth that.Meh. McAfee's schtick is akin to a toddler smearing poo all over the wall and then yelling for you to look at it. Loudly. Over and over. While clapping.
Thank God I don't even watch College Gameday Brought To You By Fanduel anymore.
The key there is that only 21 percent had no opinion. He could’ve gotten a 79% disapproval rating, and he’d be equally valuable to the viewership ratings. But college football fans have been of very different opinions over McAfee's often bombastic presence on the show. A poll taken by The Athletic last football season showed that 48.9 percent of over 3,000 respondents disapproved of him, while 30.1 percent said they liked him, and 21 percent had no opinion.4 mins ago
I think you are right. Younger fans seem to really like him. I always wonder why he is yelling at me and also why he didn’t wait until he was sober to get dressed. He's one of only 2 "personalities" that people watch that network for (outside of live games). ESPN is paying him hundreds of millions of dollars. Of course he's going to be on that show.
