Dallas, just because you don't say something explicitly doesn't mean you didn't imply it. You say "he's decent. Maybe average." That is implying that is he isn't good. NBA teams aren't lining up to take average college coaches.

If UT went to the final four you'd declare Barnes the GOAT. Cal does it like 5 times and you call it a moral victory.

Counting final 4s aren't the best way to decide a coaches worth. What Marshall has done a WSU is very impressive. Imo what he has done there is much better than Cal at Kentucky and that isn't even brining the talent question into debate.

Now granted, that does mean you're arguing on a UK fan's level.....

I see the comparison to Patterson at TCU.
You re always curious to see if that coach at a name school could be Saban in football or K in basketball.

Is he just really good in that situation with those circumstances or does he take that next step at a better spot.

Cal is best at what he does.

1. Recruiting.
2. Getting a bunch of One & Dones to play together.
3: Connections to the NBA.

Now compare him to Barnes.

1. Great at developing players that weren’t so highly rated in high school.
2. Descent at X’s & O’s

A lot of coaches are great in their “own way”.

I personally don’t think Cal is or nor will ever be the best college coach but I do think he’s the best at what he does the most.

Recruiting McDonald’s All Americans to UK and getting them ready for the NBA.

It has nothing to do with winning National Titles.

How? These are all valid points. Arguing like a fifth grader Is wha you can read on here between ziti, bto, and Bruin when they get into it. drool over cal all you want, I guess. I’ll just set back and laugh every time we spank that ass. Which could be at rupp (doubt it, but we all know about that) but mostly likely will be next season, or maybe in the conference tourney.

Not sure why everyone cares so much. I posted a very valid statement.the original post wasn’t meant to disrespect cal (i do enough of that offline) it was to say not every player he brings in is going to be a Malik monks but, since it’s me, everyone flicks to it like a pack of hounds. I’m glad you all care so much...
