College Hoops Around The Country [TN opponents, RPI, others]

And because the fans are arrogant *******s. I can’t wait to see their excuse’s at the end of the year. I’m sorry this bothers you. I’m also sorry that I don’t care.

Literally every fanbase of a school that has won titles and is dominant has portions of it that are arrogant. When you win 8 titles, what do you think will happen? Are UT football fans not arrogant? Are Duke basketball fans? Are Golden State fans?

Did you just start watching sports last week?

if I have to point it out then I don’t know what else to say. I

I'm a complete smart ass because it's one of the only ways you'll ever listen.

Very few have defended you like I have at times. I've tried to encourage you, reached out to you outside VN to offer some advice, and on and on with you.

If I see bs, I call it out. Whether you're my best friend or some random dude at the gym. But keeping thinking everyone around you is the problem, not the person in the mirror.

I don’t personally hate Kentucky.

I like & respect UK’s program.

I even have family & friends who are big time UK fans that I can have great sports discussions with.

Calipari is the reason why I don’t pull for them because he’s turned one of the best basketball traditions in NCAA history into NBA tryouts.

I’ve never liked him while he was at Memphis.

I’m not sure if Dallas truly hates Kentucky as a whole or he’s not a Calipari fan.

Not taking sides but I don’t think Vol fans hate Kentucky where it’s a personal issue.

I never thought I'd say this but here goes , GO WILDCATS.... I'm a bout to, oh hell my supper is in the floor.

I can never bring myself to root for UK, unless their W will have a direct/immediate positive impact for the Vols. I don't see it right now. There's a few other teams that can knock off Auburn and I'd rather UK falter as much as possible. Especially since I don't think we run the table. Want as much gap between us those below as possible.

Unless you see Tennessee closing 2-3 that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense...the immediate positive is that it makes it that much more likely Tennessee can surpass Auburn in both the SEC standings and also NCAAT seed list.

It wouldn't surprise me to see them drop any combination of the Florida, State, and Georgia games. Do you really see Auburn losing 3 and us winning out to give us the title? I'm not talking a shared, but outright.

And it's not an immediate positive right now because we don't jump Auburn with it, and there's a 7 more games. If an Auburn loss put UT in the lead, then it would be an immediate positive. That's what I meant.

Kentucky is barely hanging in that quadrant 1 range. We just don't know how much the committee is going to value those wins but we need the committee to see the two wins vs Kentucky as a pretty big deal.

The chances of winning it outright go up a heck of a lot more with an Auburn loss than with an Auburn win...also a shared title would still be more than what Tennessee has typically ever gotten so yea, I would gladly take it. In addition, if we do finish the year with a shared title it would also mean that we’ve surpassed them on the NCAAT seed list which is obviously the bigger picture here, better seed and better chance of a favorable location.

I get that...but the chances of there being an immediate positive the rest of the season become almost zilch if Auburn wins tonight, that’s my point.

There’s also this line of thinking as well...add in that we played UK twice and their SOS counts twice as much against us as Auburn’s, so UK winning give us a boost there as well.

There honestly isn’t a single reason to root for Auburn except for the fact of hating UK.

I want the double bye and I wanna win the SECT. Don’t care about winning regular season title.

I agree with that for the most part, but I think most would agree big picture that we all want the best seed and location as possible...that means passing as many teams ahead of us as possible Auburn is one of those, UK is not.

Interesting. I think I might lean the other way.

Regular season means you were the best team over the course of the year. Tourney champs mean you were the best for 3-4 days. Now, making a run in the SEC tourney is a pretty fun ride too. Let’s just win both :)

I just want the SECT cause I’ve never seen us win it.
