It’s amazing how some of you always have an excuse when we lose, in any sport at any time of year. The Vols can do no wrong. They were treating it like a sweet 16 game. We treated it like an NBA preseason game.

My point being we got beat by Indiana on our home floor, even though it was a charity exhibition - we still lost. We destroyed Louisville on theirs when it did. Now Louisville is annihilating Indiana on a neutral floor, which makes our win over them look that much better.

You may have a point, but what a weird situation to take the stance on. It was an exhibition, Barnes even stated that we didn’t do film review or really have a specific game prep for the exhibition. Really strange hill to die on.It’s amazing how some of you always have an excuse when we lose, in any sport at any time of year. The Vols can do no wrong.

My original point was how different Louisville and Indiana looked today from when we played them. The immediate response was that IU approached our game like a Sweet 16 game while we were just tinkering with lineups so the outcome meant nothing - an excuse that was totally irrelevant to the discussion. Shame on me for taking the bait. You may have a point, but what a weird situation to take the stance on. Barnes played line ups in that game that he would never put out in a regular season unless he absolutely had to. We would destroy Indiana if we played them again.Mike Woodson only played 9 players, and all 5 starters played 30+ minutes.
Rick Barnes played every scholarship player on his roster, and only 2 players hit 30 minutes.
I didn’t forget, nor did I watch the game. I didn’t know the reason we lost was because Mike Woodson approached it like an NCAA Tournament game and we didn’t take it seriously. Thanks for enlightening me.VolsCalls it’d be much less embarrassing to say you just forgot the Indiana game was an exhibition than to dig in on this bizarre idea that exhibition games are really important data points to consider when judging how good a team is
You seem offended that people don't believe that the Indiana exhibition was an accurate reflection of the two teams' talent and ability. My original point was how different Louisville and Indiana looked today from when we played them. Happy Thanksgiving.

Louisville is destroying Indiana right now in the Battle 4 Atlantis. These two teams look totally different from when we played them.
Damn, @VolsSportsFan , bringing the receipts. I agree we were not trying to win, this year. But, last year we did try at Michigan State and everybody bragged about it, on hereSo if you didn't watch the Indiana game....how do you know they look "totally different"?
Because Indiana beat us and we beat Louisville by 22. Today, Louisville beat Indiana by 28. So you’re telling me if it were a legitimate game and not an exhibition we would have beaten IU by 40-50? I didn’t understand before. Now I do, since we didn’t take that game seriously. Thank you for enlightening me.So if you didn't watch the Indiana game....how do you know they look "totally different"?
I actually don't think we really tried that hard to win the MSU game, in that it was taken particularly seriously by the coaches. Rick was cutting up and joking on the sidelines with reporters and Izzo during the game.Damn, @VolsSportsFan , bringing the receipts. I agree we were not trying to win, this year.
