College Hoops Around The Country [TN opponents, RPI, others]

10 would be disappointing, but I would take 12.
If you win 12, you could win the conference. That would mean 4-5 wins on the road, which I would take in a heartbeat. If Tennessee goes 2-1 these next three games (probably an Illinois loss) and holds serve on the rest of the OOC games, a 12-6 record in the SEC would put you 24-7 and probably fighting for a one seed going into the SEC Tournament.

12 has never won the league, not to say it’s impossible for this to be the first time ever, but I tend to think that it’s unlikely we see history made in that regard.

Holding serve at home in conference play to me means 8-1/9-0, right now Tennessee is a 7+ point favorite in their 9 conference home games, and 6/9 by double digits, so yea, 8-1/9-0 should be the expectation at home in conference play IMO. That means on the road you go 3-6/4-5, which seems pretty fair and realistic imo.

FWIW KenPom, Barttorvik and TeamRankings all project Tennessee to go 13-5 in SEC at this time, which yes as I’ve been saying now since the Bahamas trip, Tennessee has position themselves very much to be in it for their first ever 1 seed.
