College Hoops Around The Country [TN opponents, RPI, others]

Florida looks tough against Arizona State. SEC is a man's league and as good as it has been in football this years upcoming SEC basketball will be one for the ages! Tough out every night. I can't see any easy/gimme games.
Will be very hard to win on the road and that means more pressure to win your home games.

It’s nice to have an in-state rivalry game with another passionate basketball school. This is Tennessee, not North Carolina/Kentucky/Kansas.
Again, don’t care. (And Rick Barnes doesn’t either.) Not interested in helping that bunch of sad sacks out. With the jealousy and hatred that fanbase has for UT, they don’t deserve a game.

And we have an in state rival by the name of Vanderbilt.

For anyone that doesn't keep up with our WBB team, they did something pretty remarkable today: 30(!) three point makes in one game.

That surpasses the D1 Men's (28, Troy) and D1 Women's (28, Western Illinois) records, and even the NBA record (29, Milwaukee) for the same.

Also broke the conference record for points (139) previously held by the 2002 Lady Vols, and Samara Spencer broke the team record for threes in a game (with 9, including this wild shot to end the 1st half) en route to a 80 point win, 139-59 final.

Pretty awesome, indeed. I remember when the Lady Vol faithful sent angry emails to Danny White for firing KJH and then hiring not a big name. Looks to me like White is pretty good at hiring coaches. Caldwell is the real deal. She was a rising star that needed a chance, and DW gave it to her.

She was great and very well respected up here at Marshall. They didn't want to lose her.

Yeah, she turned that program around extremely quickly. She’s doing the same here. She plays a fun brand of basketball. Women will want to play for her. I mean, I don’t care how bad the team is they played, they made 30 3’s and scored 139 points. Felt like it would take 2-3 games combined to reach those numbers under KJH.

It is impressive but I hate how ESPN has started comparing women’s basketball to men’s and even NBA basketball. Put Steph in women’s college basketball and he probably hits 30 shots from 30 feet and out in a game with the small balls
