college vs pros (money)

I have a question I know the nfl has a lot of money in sponsors but college doesn't pay out all those huge salaries for players so why is it that we cannot go out and make a bigger offer on a coach than a pro team. Just an example, say the Titans for the sake of this question offered a coach 7 million a year why is that so much for a college team all the money in donations plus ticket sales why can't we just say o.k. we will pay you 10 million. Is there a big chunk of our money not stay with athletics for instance no matter what the football program makes it can only keep a certain percent in house or something? I mean with our ticket sales and donations after the scholarships wouldn't we still have several million left over?

It's not about money as both can pay very well. NFL coaches usually don't want to recruit and worry about rules of practice etc

College athletics is more than one sport. Football, basketball, baseball, etc... then all the non revenue producing sports. Added in the Title IX sports it has to fund without added revenue

Cause football pays for all other sports

Most colleges lose money on all sports but football

Utilities are another factor with many other bills due, nothing's free anywhere.
