The State | 06/10/2007 | Former USC baseball players pitching for major leagues

I understand that Coutlangus relieved McBeth late in the game lastnight for the Reds. I would venture to say that this is the first time in MLB history that a player relieved a college teammate on the mound in which neither player EVER threw a single pitch in their college baseball careers. Both players were center fielders here at South Carolina.

On another note, John Coutlangus is GAVol's favorite baseball player to ever play at Carolina, while Cocky is the mascot he holds the most disdain for in the SEC.:p

But that one guy made a great catch in the USC-UNC game, but I forgot which team he was on. I was thinking USC.

There was the one great catch (Steven Reinhold-USC center fielder) and then another really good catch by Harley Lail leaping up to snare one off the wall. Too little too late. Talk about a defensive nightmare in the infield. I can't believe how many errors we had. And that was a relative strength all year. As much as I hate to say it, UNC is a better team and earned the wins to make it to Omaha......but I still can't stand 'em.

One thing that South Carolina and Clemson fans can agree on is their mutual disdain for Georgia and North Carolina.
