I didn't say TCU was top 10.

He's done well.
Edit: see you said they’ve played a top 10. He’s done a good job of infusing the roster with talent, which is part of his job so I won’t critique it, but we need to stop acting like he’s this X and O’s and developmental wizard when he didn’t develop the 1-11 Colorado team; he got a new team. A good coach takes what he’s given, makes them his guys and coaches them up. He’s a scum but one of the most truthful things Urban ever said was the following:

That's like, when I got here, everybody wanted me to say Jim Tressel left the cupboard bare," Meyer continued. "If I heard any assistant coach [say that], they'd be gone. You're done. Those are your players. I hear TV guys [say], 'Wait until they get their own players in there.' They're our players. What do you mean 'their players?' The minute you sign a contract, they're your players.
You didn't choose me, I chose you. You're mine, absolutely. I love you, and I'm going to kick the **** out of you, and we're going to do it right …
"[Blaming players] drives me
insane. I’ve advised my coaches when they take new positions [to] always be extremely complimentary. Never talk as if those players aren't your players," he explained. "... When I hear coaches say, 'These aren't my guys. Wait 'til we get some guys in here,' I cringe. Whose guys do you think they are?”

Deion is a marketer and promoter, not a coach.

Most of this response is somebody else's words so I'll respond with someone else's words...

Make no mistake about Saban and Smart ALSO being marketers. Saban walks in with a championship ring on both hands and sells Alabama and "what he can make you a part of."

Can he coach? Yeah, both he and Kirby can definitely coach, but they can also hype their programs and do.

That's part of it. Prime likes that part and he lacks lots and lots of experience actually coaching.

That's why it's ridiculous to think he'll move to a major, blue chip program. You don't need a Prime at Georgia or Ohio State because they can point to championships and guys in the league: "We can help you get there too."

Prime can't and likely never will be able to do that but what he can do, he did do damn well this year. He got kids there, apparently got them in class, got them disciplined enough to be a team, and he got a couple of wins........ then he got boatraced by a better team and better coach.

Still, what he is good at...... he did well.

The media stuff is what THEY do well: get us talking about and watching and clicking on their stuff. The ratings show they did well.

It's a win for how America works. Mostly hype, a little bit of substance.

I didn’t say Urban was the first coach to espouse that belief but he’s not wrong. Intelligent response from you though. Keep thinking Deion is doing anything more than pretending to be a legitimate coach when his one goal is to promote his sons and himself.

I watch hoping he gets his brains beat in. I was finally satisfied yesterday.

And that's how I watch Saban.

Prime is just one of those that come along that are good for the media, good for ratings, etc. He's harmless and I have a mute button.

What he did at CO is interesting and is probably near the limit of what can be done via a mass remake of a team in a year. It's a "one off" event and I'm amazed people think he'll get a head coach chair at a school like Bama or whatever.

He'd face coaches every week that are better than him with entrenched traditions of things like hard workouts and nutrition and drill after drill of fundamentals..... the not so TV ready things that make football teams great.

Good for him for a couple of good wins. Nothing more, nothing less.

Yeah, they now have the same record as we do and they've played 2 ranked teams, 1 a top 10. After going 1-11 last year and this is the coaches first year.

The haters want everybody to shut up about Dion but they won't shut up talking about how much Dion is overrated. Lol.
I don’t get the hate on here for Dion. He’s got a great voice. Abraham, Martin, and John is a piece that transcends the current events in the title. Maybe he gets hate because Dream Lover, Runaround Sue, and The Wanderer haven’t held up as well, but you can’t be overly critical when you look at the importance of those songs in their era.

Urban is a slime bucket and I never said Dion was better than Urban. I never said he was a great or even a good coach. In fact guys like you think you know what I think just because I don't hate on Dion.

He's done a better job than most said he'd do. Really don't care if anyone likes how he did it either.

I think many are still upset about the tyrannical manner in which he ruled Syracuse as well as his earlier surreptitious attempt to betray Syracusan interests to the Carthaginians. He was a disciple of Plato, though, so he does have that in his favor.

A lot of people point to that letter but Syracuse never really recovered after losing McNabb and the opener to that other team in orange

That's exactly right, and, in any case, he's already paid for his crimes by being banished twice and finally assassinated, so you'd think people could forgive him.

Hoping Deion and Colorado lose means I have a problem? I’m sure you hope Saban and Bama lose more often than not…you must have issues.
I have major issues, never said I didn't.

But watching an OoC football game that means nothing to me except watching the team coached by someone I hate get beat to death , just because he's not doing his job the way I expect him to, isn't one of my problems.

Going back and forth with you about it is. Lol.

Buffs showing they are what most reasonable people thought they were. Mouth only gets you so far when you’re barely beating bums.

I've never been a fan of celebrity teams. If Colorado gets run out the building against teams with a pulse - The Rock, Lil Wayne, Snoop or other attention whores will disappear from the sidelines as quickly as they showed up.

I watch football from 11am till 12am every Saturday so I watch a lot of OOC games for various reasons.
