I like Peyton and also Dungy , and maybe it's just me but now Tn. has their own team and I will pull for my home states team first and foremost . Everyone else can pull for whoever they choose. The guy who said peyton had done more for football in the state of TN . than the TITANS is just wrong .

I'm old enough to where I was already pretty set in my NFL ways when the Titans came. I don't really have a whole lot of interest in the NBA, but if I were to start following it, I might consider pulling for the Grizzlies, if they weren't terrible and likely to leave soon. I like Jeff Fisher, Keith Bullock, Chris Hope, and a few others, but overall I really just can't bring myself to care whether the Titans win or lose.

You don't live in nashville either, where its being force fed to you. I'm not a big NBA fan, but if i were the grizzlies would be my team. I didn't like the titans at first myself. It took a few years for them to grow on me.

They're a lunch pail type of team. Fisher is more conservative at times than i would like, but thats his style.

I'm glad they've had as good a year as they have had. Ease the pain of 5-7. I've always considered myself a college fan first and i still am. But i appreciate the speed, crispness and execution of the nfl as a fan of football in general.:hi:

I actually know several people in Nashville that started out indifferent but now totally despise the Titans for that reason.
Well they're not lying. They get a lot of press and airtime. Programming people to like them. It happens in more things than just sports, but why get into that.

I guess when they finally changed those ugly oiler uni's and changed the name, thats when i started following them more. You living in memphis remember more about the oilers, back when they were playing in the liberty bowl.

I'll be honest with you, at that time i didn't think they'd last five years the way that thing was going.

I didn't move to Memphis until after the Titans had been in Nashville for several years. But, I could see how the Nashville press praising the Titans would be pretty annoying considering how they also notoriously downplay UT and inflate Vanderbilt.

They do that a lot. Snobbish is a good way to describe it. As far as the titans go, well its the first major sports team nashville has had, it was to be expected.

In general most of the sportswriters in this town suck and speak negatively about most things. Except vandy beating BC last week. They're eating that up.
