Just for the heck of it, wondering who everyone would pick as the surprise driver or comeback driver of the year? I might have to go with Jamie McMurray as he ran much better at the end of 2008 and he is with Donnie Wingo again.

What guy had a bad year in 2008 that you expect to improve the most in 2009?

He didn't have a terrible year but I think the guy that will step it up is Brian Vickers. He still might not make the chase but I do feel if he has a litle better lluck he might make some noise.

I look for Kurt Busch to improve, even win at least one race. I also feel the same way about David Reutiman.

Surprise of year:David Ragan(not really a surprise but he hasn't won or made the chase until this year

Comeback Driver of year:Casey Mears(I'll go way out on a limb and say he'll win multiple races and will contend for the chase.)

I too go with McMuarry and Bobby Labonte will also make some noise. Surprise...watch out for Sam Hornish!

I like the Hornish pick. I could see him doing much better this coming year. He's a talented driver and now he has a year under his belt and I expect Penske to have a much better year. I like rbroyles Kurt Busch pick too.

I would love to see someone different get in the chase and mix it up with the regulars. I do like Hendrick MS but I realize it's bad for the sport if Jimmie wins another championship this season.

Would it not be cool to see Mark Martin win a championship and go out on top like John Elway? I know the odds are against him but that would be fun to watch.

I would love to see Martin and Jeff Burton both win a championship before they retire.

I wouldn't have a problem with either of those 2 guys. I didn't care much for Burton when he was at Roush. Now that he has went to Childress I have seen a whole diffrent side to him. He is one of the few "good" guys.

I cann see McMurray having a good season. He'd better, with the new team limits i'd expect he'll be looking for a seat next year.

I'm turned off a bit on Mark because he always seemed to have a finger to point at someone when things didnt work out for him. I'd love to see Jeff pull one out though.

What are you talking about? Mark blames himself...even when he shouldn't. I can't remember what race it was last year but, he had a dominent car. His pit crew kept making mistakes every time he made a pit stop. They played the radio conversation from Mark to his team after the 3rd bad pit stop in a row and he was actually encouraging his team. If it would have been any other driver they wouldn't have been able to play the conversation, it would have been a bunch of bleeps. If anybody in NASCAR has earned the right to win a championship it's Mark.

the friendly, smiling 'my bad' Mark of recent years must have clouded your memory.

Martin added to his me first mentality a few years ago when he was asked about his Rousch teammates he made the statement..."I dont have any teammates...If I did they would be trying to help ME win." Later on added "We are a bunch of guys who drive for the same man."

And stewart punches people in the face......whats your point? I like jeff burton as well. The only "nice" guy I can think of to win a championship is jimmy johnson. That's probably why I can't stand him.

Like Denny Hamlin, that guy is the worst at blaming everyone else.

Most of the drivers are pretty good people overall. I think Mark Martin is a pretty good guy but we all see it different I guess. Jeff Burton would be a good one to win it too.

Carl is becoming my most hated driver out there.

In Carl's defense, he takes losing better than a lot of drivers. I noticed that he was the first guy at Jimmie's car to congratulate him when Jimmie won during their battles in the chase last season. Maybe he just likes Jimmie or something. :)
